Update: 15 Nov, 2020 @ 5:15am

Summary of Changes (V5, Hotfix 2): This hotfix was primarily a “harmonization” of various settings between this mod and the Main WAW , WW2 Civ Pack, and WW2 Scenario On Any Map mods. Cleaning up unit definitions and other technical issues which sometimes caused odd behavior in various mod combinations (e.g. if Main WAW and the WW2 Civ Pack were enabled, aircraft units from the Civ Pack mod could not attack cities. Playing the Civ Pack alone, they could.).

Specific Changes:

- The Main WAW mod added a “Severe City Penalty” to melee ship units of all kinds. All melee ships now have a 90% penalty when attacking cities. They can still capture cities, but will need assistance to actually reduce city defenses. Unique Units that are Naval Melee ships will also get this promotion.

- Added a German marine replacement unit.

- Changed the Turkish/Ottoman font icon to the flag of Turkey.

- Added new 20 units from the WW2 Civilizations Pack to correct an unfixable-bug, related to the common “mod load order problem.”

- Fixed an incorrect icon for the German Heavy Tank unit.

- Added 48 unique unit icons (44 drawn by me).

- Made several adjustments inside the unit definition tables, correcting minor problems in many unit definitions. Units now look/act more like “normal” units of their type, and should behave more stably. *

* Technical Changes: Here is a list of specific adjustments made to units:

- Ensured all IFV’s were categorized as UNITCOMBAT_GUN, not armor.
- Ensured all “Paratrooper” type units (incl. later paradrop units) only used UNITAI_PARADROP.
- Added UNITAI_MISSILE_CARRIER_SEA to all ships/subs that can carry missiles.
- Added FLAVOR_NUKE to ships/subs that can carry nukes.
- Ensured fighters have UNITAI_DEFENSE_AIR as default.
- Ensured all NAVAL_MELEE units had IgnoreBuildingDefense set on.
- Changed ArtDefines (Weapons) for all Fighers and Dive bombers to make sure they only used 2 attack animations, and not 3.
- Ensured Art Defines Unit Infos contained the FighterWing formation for all fighter units.

Update: 28 Oct, 2020 @ 12:24pm

Hotfix, Minor Update -- Summary of Changes:

New Units:

1. Pennsylvania Class Superdreadnought (USA)

2. Queen Elizabeth Class Superdreadnought (UK)

3. Marine (Germany)

4. Minekaze Class Destroyer (Corvette, Japan)

5. Fubuki Class Destroyer (Destroyer Escort, Japan)

Added more custom Civilizations who can use these units:

1. Japan: JFD's Japan (Meiji), JFD's Japan (Jimmu), PorkBean's Republic of Ezo, Homusubi's Japan (Tanaka Kakuei), GPuzzle's The Shogunate of Japan, Iska's Imperial Legacies – Japan, Bane_S Tokugawa's Japan

2. Ottomans: MC's Ottomans (Orhan), TarcisioCM's Ottoman Empire (Mehmed V), The Good The Bad And The Ugly (all 4 civs), The Turks (Mehmed II), Republic of Turkey, Uighur_Caesar's Turkey

3. Rome: JFD’s Rome (Julian), JDF’s Rome (Julius Caesar), JFD’s Rome (Caracalla), JFD’s The Empire of Rome (Constantine), Ishipp’s Rome Scipio Africanus, TarcisioCM - Rome (Aurelian), Uighur_Caesar's Rome (Pompey), Rob8xft’s Anno Domini Ancient Mediterranean, MD’s The Roman Empire – Trajan, ComradeTitus’ The Roman Republic - Brutus

Other Changes:

1. Fixed the German U-Boat upgrade path, which was broken previously

2. Modified the German WW2 Fighter upgrade paths. Basically, their Fighter Mk I (Bf-109) and Fighter Mk II (Fw-190) now upgrade to the Jet Fighter unit at Lasers. They may still build the Fighter Mk III (from the Main WAW mod), and that fighter upgrades to the Advanced Fighter (Me-262). The Me-262 also upgrades to the Jet Fighter unit at Lasers. These changes are not only more accurate historically, they also take away some of the OP nature of the "free" SS units

3. German SS Infantry units now can spawn at the discovery of Radar, not Operations Research. We should see more SS units and earlier. Nerfed the chance to spawn for human players to half that of AI players. Nerfed the overall upper limit of spawn chance from 50% to 45% max

4. Moved the Japanese Kagero Class from a Flotilla Destroyer to a Heavy Destroyer, which is much more accurate, historically. It also only requires a Seaport to build, not a Shipyard as other Heavy Destroyers do

5. Added +1 movement to all Japanese WW2-Era destroyers compared to similar ship types of other civs. To balance this out, none of the WW2 Japanese destroyers (Minekaze, Fubuki, or Kagero) can upgrade until the discovery of Astrophysics, when they may all upgrade to the Aegis Destroyer

6. Cleaned up some of the Japanese unit names, so that their actual type is more apparent in the unit name (e.g. “Ki-61 `Hien` Fighter” becomes “Ki-61 `Hien` Fighter Mk II”, etc.

Update: 24 Sep, 2020 @ 11:28am

Summary of Changes (last 3 versions):

- Numerous changes/adjustments to ensure full-compatibility with changes to the Main WAW mod, as well as the new “WW2 Scenario on Any Map” companion mod

- SS Units: Made several changes to these units and how these units spawn:

--- Added the "CIVILIZATION_WAW_GERMANY" custom civ from the "WW2 Scenario on Any Map" mod so that SS units will spawn for this civ

--- If the German civ has over 15 units out of supply, generally SS units won't spawn

--- The exception is that every 4 turns, the spawner doesn't check for unit supply; it will try to spawn regardless - so that at least some SS units will spawn no matter how many units the German player has

--- The number of wars the German player is fighting impacts spawn chance: the more wars being fought, the higher the chance of spawn

--- Human players still have half the chance of SS unit spawn than AI civs

--- If the German civ has -5 oil (or even less), then SS Armor units will not spawn under any circumstances

--- Again, if the German civ has -5 oil or less, and SS Armor units don't spawn, then the chance of Infantry SS units spawning increases 50%; so there is a higher chance for Infantry unit spawn if Armor cannot spawn

--- Fixed the flag for both Infantry and Armor units

- Fixed the "missing references" spawn into the LUA.log file; removed the "print spam" from the SS unit spawner; mod is less "noisy" than before

- Fixed the attack animation for the Russian BM-21 rocket launcher

- Give PROMOTION_ANTI_AIR promotion to Hvy Destroyers in the mod (as done in the Main WAW mod)

- Add German overrides for all german civs for UNITCLASS_TANK to UNIT_GERMAN_PANZER

- Fixed USA P-47 aircraft to the correct unit icon

- Renamed the UNITCLASS_WAW_WW2_BOMBER_MEDIUM_U to UNITCLASS_WAW_WW2_BOMBER_MEDIUM_UK

- More fixes, mostly cosmetic, under-the-hood kinds of fixes; nothing impacting gameplay
