I discovered a limitation in Darkest Dungeon's code which could not allow 2 unique Traits specific to my class AND influence of Resolve outcomes with Virtue buffs.

I decided to combine the two into an affliction which radically changes in damage and playstyle as you lose/gain stress. Most abilities have gained +stress or -stress to help portray the struggle, and the Trait AI does a bit of everything.

Below are numbers associated strictly with the Affliction: "Heroic Struggle"

At 100:

1) This is for "at or above" X stress.

Enter "Heroic Struggle"

Gain 5% damage at 75. 10% at 100. 15% at 125. 20% at 150. 25% at 175.

Gain +10% stress taken at 100. 5% stress taken at 125. 5% stress taken at 150. (These numbers will likely be tweaked, depending on feedback.)

2) This is for "at or below" X stress.

Enter "Heroic Struggle"

Gain 15% prot/dodge at 75.

Gain 15% damage on Gliding Thrust at 60. (This is listed in the ability in-game, unlike everything else here. It's added for completion's sake).

Gain 5% stress resistance at 50. 10% stress resistance at 30 stress. 15% stress resistance at 10 stress.

---------------------------------

Brief note on stress resistance:

Say you're in "Heroic Struggle." Being at 10 stress gives you 40% passive stress resistance, and with trinkets you can get quite a lot more (70% total in these rare circumstances with my own modded trinkets).

Some would say that's silly. I would say two things:

1) If you do this, you're not participating well within the risk factor of this mod. That's actually fine with me, and an option for some players. However, if you can use this mod to its full ptential, you can hover around 50-75% extra damage with reasonable (but not at all truly safe) chances of out-playing incoming stress spells/crits. This mod is intended to favor the bold and clever (in DD terms).

Furthermore, the Abysswalker is more of a defender/team player at those low stress levels of "Heroic Struggle." He can use his CC abilities, guard, and activate his personal heal/stress mechanic with less worry, meaning he's a semi self-sufficient meat-shield. Lots of hypens, there.

Or anything inbetween. I won't tell you how to play, just share some ideas I had in creation.

2) This mod is balanced around a rather Dark Souls-familiar idea: you can unequip your trinket. Silver Pendant, the trinket which guards from stress, was a useable item in Dark Souls that one could opt to swap at a moment's notice. This is intended in my mod.

Lastly, the Abysswalker, under the Trait "Heroic Struggle," does inspirational things for his allies and himself, but also chaotic and disagreeable actions which represent his struggle. This, too, will likely receive tweaks in the future. I tried not to make it obnoxious, because you've likely got enough to worry about with stress. If not, I'll grab the NERF or ADJUSTMENT Hammer.

I hope you enjoy it. :D
