Grave with Cross

Description
Allows you to build a grave with a cross instead of a tombstone.

The grave functions like the vanilla grave but has a new texture and also defaults to only allow colonists to be buried in it.

My graves do not replace the vanilla graves.

Cross graves are save game compatible, but if you want to remove cross graves; you will need to delete every cross grave in your game.

Cross graves is compatible with Mass Graves.
Mass Graves defaults to "Stranger humanlike" while on the other hand, Cross Graves defaults to "Colonist humanlike".

If you build the two, and a colonist dies; he will be buried in a cross grave as long as you have one built.
On the other hand, if a raider dies, he or she will be thrown in the mass grave instead.

[Update]

I have tidied up my grave graphics. My graves now offer a small beauty bonus and would look great in a small room so feel free to build my graves indoor.

Due to my limit experience in modding, I am unable to create a functioning "pray" system for my graves as I had initially intended. I am able to allow pawns to pray at the graves but due to the animations associated with the "pray" action, pawns will climb graves to pray over them instead of standing to the side like originally envisioned. So I have decided to leave that feature out.

Also, I had planned to make them require research but was unable to figure out how.

Thank you for downloading Graves with Cross.

I plan to create Graves with Flowers next.

I hope to make more mods in the future!

I have updated this mod to 1.0 for my own enjoyment. All that is needed was for the png's in textures to be renamed. If Daniel_USA doesn't mind, I will upload my version to the workshop and of course give him credit where it is due.

Should Daniel_USA ask me to remove my version, I will comply.

sorry max cant upgrade to B19 because I am actually on 1.0 since it is x64 bit.

due to shenanigans at Steam you are unable to get it again so I'm not messing with it until later.

Rimworld was updated to version B19 as the current main game version, are you planning to update this mod?

No problem, i hope to get the flowers grave mod out next week. I got another mod i started working on as well. I just need to set the code for it but I am too lazy to continue doing it since I tried coding for like 5 hours and I couldn't get the intended behavior.

I also intend on making the cross thicker. This was my first time drawing in Krita and I didn't want to change too much but I think I understand the mechanic of how an object is rendered in Rimworld and I should be able to get a "fuller" cross.

Awesome, thanks for the mod and this little touch makes a huge difference

Well David, this mod doesn't tamper with vanilla graves so if you want to "instill fear" into the tribals there are still those or I would recommend the "Mass Graves" mod because nothing says, "Get off my lawn." like a giant pit full of corpses.

The cross graves provide a small but healthy beauty bonus, so if you keep using cross graves on the front line, at least you will be doing it with style! :steamhappy:

Thanks for the info Daniel.

Seems like I shouldn't build all of my graves near my perimeter wall anymore.

Hey David, that is actually a good question. I believe it is technically considered cover. LOL, why do you want to have a firefight in a graveyard? Because that actually sounds like a good story telling element.

Do normal graves offer a cover bonus?

I don't know how much cover my grave would provide though. I had to tell the game that the grave is technically a building instead of a hole in the ground because tiles like grass would bleed over the cross. I believe that issue is fixed now and by fixing it, I have inadvertently given the Cross Graves tick for being cover.

I have no way to test it to give an actual number and I didn't add a code for a set amount of cover, but since the game gives a small amount of cover to objects when calculating damage the Cross Graves might give you some cover bonus.

Can the cross be used as cover?
