i meant no disrespect, in fact I didn't even know there was a debate. i just wanted to make an input on the origin. Hungarians are European, to say to the contrary is like saying only the Basque are true europeans because the indo-europeans moved in after them, which is just stupid. Be factual and be nice everyone, don't let ancient rivalries effect your temporally distant, individual life.

And the Roman civilization may be dead, but it has many descendents from across the greatest lengths of it's borders, from when they were based in central Italy to when they sailed to the Golden Horn

and how did my nationality come into this debate? Its not like being hungarian means we act like the Real descendants of the Roman people (who by the way live in italy and not in eastern europe, where the romans didn't have land for more than a decade) Btw, its true. Ancient hungarians might have came from the asian steppes. But my people lived in Europe for the last 1200 years ... today we are just as european as you are.

I thought Magyars were ural finnics that were conquered and assimilated by the Huns, then after their fall and being conquered by other steppe folk moving west, the Magyars followed suite.

Mr. White Also Magyars are a Tataric-Altaic people from the eastern asian steppes not even European.

Actually from my search i found out that the vlachs were not slavs but actually they are descedants of the Volcae from Gaul as the Ceacar and the Greek Ptolemeans used to descibe them as Celts not slavs.

Yeah i just said thet today Romania and the term Rhomania have the same meaning :)

@Georgios Vasiklos Lupas This name was used by the Romans before the rise of the modern Romanian national identity, so it is fine. I have another rename mod for the 'Byzantines', calling them the Roman Empire. If you prefer, you can click on my 'Roman Shit' workshop collection and find it there.

(vlachs - called like this by westerners, are latin people, they are called romanians, vlach is only a name of german origins)

Actualy it has to do something with Romania, as long as for both nations the name means the same thing, a better name for Byzantium should be Basileia Rhomaion (Roman Empire) or Imperium Romanum, for more english it should be Empire of the Romans or Roman Empire
