Beskrivning
This mod is for all the Starbound chefs out there who wish there was more variety in the cooking recipes. Starchef adds a whole slew of new recipes from savory BBQ meat to sugary confections that will satisfy your sweet tooth!

Regarding Starchef 2.0
I have taken over the maintenance of the Starchef mod with Vanthexi's permission. Unfortunately, due to the way that Steam handles (or, rather, fails to handle) mod authorship, I have had to upload a new version of Starchef (hence the "REDUX") in order to become its maintainer. Please unsubscribe from the outdated mod when you subscribe to this one to avoid any conflicts. Your recipes, items, and everything else from the old mod will not be affected.

What does this mod do?
This mod adds many new cooking recipes, such as BBQ and fried variants of Alien Steak, Poultry, and Tentacle. For a more detailed explanation, please read the So what's in this mod, exactly? thread.

Compatibility
In its current version, Starchef just adds new recipes so it should be compatible with all other mods (yes, that includes Frackin Universe). If a mod is found to be incompatible I'll note it here.

Uh, I could try to get a patch out after I finish the rebalance I'm working on, but no promises it'll be done in any reasonable amount of time.

Any chance this could get a patch for Frackinuniverses' food types? Frackinuniverse enables some races to be able to eat raw meat without being poisoned by it, though this doesn't affect food from other mods.

Thanks for the heads up! I am (slowly) working on doing some basic balancing to address the problem of the foods filling the hunger bar. I can't guarantee when I'll get the patch out, but I will get it out eventually.

Github can be a bit intimidating, but if there's anything in particular I can help with, let me know! I'll try to get set up to do work on the mod during winter break, but I can't promise anything.

That's fine, take your time. Fixing every single item file does sound like a very intimidating task on paper. But the ~8.4k people who use this mod have proven themselves to be very patient and understanding people, so rest assured that nobody's expecting you to drop everything and do the whole thing in one sitting or anything like that :dale_snowman:
We're grateful for the mod, and we'll continue to be grateful for however much or little time you feel comfortable with using on those fixes, even if it's only a little bit and only once in a while. Because at the end of the day, what's best for you is what really matters <3

Sorry about that, I never got around to fixing anything because I don't play Starbound anymore :winter2019saddog: It sounds like every consumable file would have to be looked at and fixed, and I just don't have the time to do that right now...

Clarification: By "That 'mystery' status effect," I mean the one that MegaMato was talking about.

Even with mods like "Hungrier" or "Bigger Stomach, Same Hunger," all foods from this mod instantly fill the player up. I think it might be caused by that 'mystery' status effect that based on observation seems to grant a very short version of the "full belly" effect, which raises the player's stomach to its max in order to make itself happen.
In terms of balancing this mod, removing this effect from all of the mod's items would be a good place to start. Eating a single slice of toast while in a state of starvation oughtn't make you stuffed silly >.>
