Description
This is the Hiigaran Destroyer, made from large blocks, emulating the style of the ships from the classic PC game HomeWorld 2. It is roughly half-scale based on available data.

Details:

Mass: 45 Million KG
Length: 264 meters

Survival ready
No mods
Full conveyor system for Oxygen and Cargo/Ammo
Docking connector for refueling and re-arming
Full Heavy Armour Hull construction with some light armour for interior walls/bulkheads
2 sets of Torpedo tubes
8 gatling turrets for anti-air defense
5 control seats- one main and four for operating weapons
5 back-up control stations located in the rear of the ship
Lift shafts to travel between the 5 decks
Multiple Jumpdrives, batteries, reactors, cryopods, medical bays- all the essentials and then some.

Special Features:

Vanilla manually controlled large turrets- 4 control stations allow manual control of the 4 large turrets, via the use of remote control blocks and cameras, control stations are set up with simple to use controls so no faffing around is needed.

Hanger bay- a decent sized hanger is located on the lower port side of the ship, with room for one or two small support ships or fighters. Rotor lock override is turned on by default to prevent any accidents- button panels have 3 buttons for simple control ( rotor on/off, rotor reverse, safety override on/off ).

Production Facilities- ship has 2 Refineries, multiple Assemblers and Arc furnaces, along with Oxygen/Hydrogen production and storage and lots of cargo storage

This ship took me a while to build, but I think it was worth it- it is very large and heavy, but handles like a much smaller ship thanks to it's impress power pack and Gyros ( so many Gyros... ). Its thick hull armour is very resistant to damage, especially around crucial areas, and thanks to it's hanger bay it can even carry it's own fighter escorts or repair ships and such. Would make a worthy mothership/base ship in its own right.

Don't forget to check out the rest of my HomeWorld ships on the workshop, I have a Collection which is updated regularly: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/workshop/filedetails/?id=1818498339

It's more intended to be a replica rather than a functional ship. The side bridge is far too small to be used as such, hence having it inside the main hull. The vanilla large turrets should function if you remove the main cockpit setting in the K menu- again though, it's built mainly for looks than anything else. There will be a modded version with AI large turrets in the future though, so single-person operation will be more viable.

So suicideneil I love your build, however I did notice two problems with the design when i test it, first was the bridge, now Hiigaran ships have a side bridge, for this ship it was an airlock, which is fine for a survival ready ship but for cinematic purposes it really detracts from the ship. The next problem i noticed was the turrets, this ship was not designed for multi-crew use and it is showcased whenever you have two people or more manning the turrets and a single pilot there is an issue where you cannot move the turrets, there needs to be a script or some form of control that overrides this issue.

The design is awesome. I personally love the interior of the ship the most. And the best part? The Hiigaran symbol in "lego" language is quite amazing when looking from afar. In fact, the entire ship looks like a lego version of the destroyer, which is quite entertaining to watch from afar and up close.

I made the mistake of looking at some of the mods available- the Re-arm mod has so many awesome variations it is mind blowing, including an Ion cannon equipped Destroyer- that explains a lot, lol. I think I'll just stick to the vanilla ships though, there is way too much temptation to start building variants and new ships right now, I need to focus on the main fleet, then I can think about doing some modified versions and variants in a 'second pass', so to speak...

Author: Hey, no problem. Since I love the franchise a lot I know a good deal about the ships, and the Destroyers and Battlecruisers are probably some of the most attractive ship designs I've ever seen. You could just replace the beams with muzzle flashes and shells flying through the air. If you have any questions about Homeworld ships, feel free to ask!

@ronidude- no offense dude, I've looked at your builds- 'flying bricks' is the polite way of describing them. There is no possible way to build something of this size and detail in just a few hours- some guys put in 50+ hours on their ships, and it shows in the level of detail and the stunning architecture of the design, internal and external- anyone can bang out a box with thrusters on each side and a stripe down the middle in just a few hours, that's nothing to try and gloat about.

I'll happily take constructive critism and respond if I see fit, but anyone that wants to brag about how fast they are at building or how they built a ship that's bigger and more detailed without providing any actual proof will just have their comments deleted and be blocked. Thanks for understanding.

@MrEvan312- you can tell I never played the game, I probably should have researched that a bit more. I may update the thumbnail if possible, otherwise it will stand as a testement to my noobishness.

@Henry- yep, I thought it was obvious really, but my photoshop skills must be *that* awesome...

Just nitpicky thing about the thumbnail: The Hiigaran Destroyer is armed with four kinetic turrets, basically deck guns. Instead of firing blue ion beams, it fires some kind of explosive shell.
