Galaxy Defenders (CORE) - Scripted

Description
Welcome Agents.... .. .

Here is the complete Galaxy Defenders + all Kickstarter Components for the CORE SET.

This is a completely new to the workshop version of Galaxy Defenders with nothing taken from other mods (apart from the stuff listed below). This is my second major mod for TSS and this time I gave a shot at scripting everything myself. Wow, what a headache! Learning programming from scratch, then LUA and then TSS scripting was a real effort! Still, it was a fun learning project and I hope you guys like what I have done with this one and enjoy this fantastic game that plays so well solo all the way up to 5 players.

Have Fun and ROLL HIGH
--Targic

I would like to thank

Mr Stump - Your advise and help with scripting was invaluable. I really hope I wasn't hassling you so much, but know that this mod would not exist without your aid.
Cryptosha - Same to you pal. Your help in getting me started with scripting was the springboard I needed.
Gremlin Project / Ares Games - Thanks for the great game and for giving me permission to make this mod.

kiitick - I re-purposed your "trays" to be used in my GD Mod. Thanks a lot!! (Original Mod - Table Trays 2 )
Tumba - Trumba's excellent scripted dice trays are also included in this mod for those that like trays, but more importantly for VR players (Original Mod - Tumba's Magic Dice Tray Collection)

Setup Instructions

When you load the mod you will see a large set of buttons. Simply select what "type" of game you wish to play and the mission number then hit "load mission". This will set up the game space for that mission. Now you can start playing!

Options : Campaign Mode, Campaign Mode (Elite), Standalone, Standalone (Overkill), Standalone (Extreme)

These options are basically difficulty settings as defined by the "Elite Aliens Expansion".

Unfortunately I could not work out a way to auto delete the button after setup. Everything I tried would stop the setup before it finished. The game host will have to right click on the RED button and select DELETE to remove the large setup buttons from the game.

How does the Warehouse Work?

• When you start a standalone game the warehouse will be automatically set up.

• When you start any Campaign Game (after the 1st mission) Much of the warehouse will be absent so you can import your "progression crate" for the campaign.

Method for Campaign Progression

• When you start a new Campaign you will see the "Progression Crate" in your warehouse. This contains 5 bags, 1 for each agent.
• At the end of your mission, drop all your Agents and their skills as well as tactics into these bags, then store them in the crate.
• Also drop into the crate any weapons you have found during the mission that were added to your warehouse or used by your agents.
• Drop in the Improved Weapons, Alien Weapons, Tactics and Improved Tactics containers.
• There is a Black Bag in the warehouse you can drop your dead agents into as well as a "Alive Agents" bag with any unused agent. Place both these in the crate as well. This is for people using the "Perma Death" rules.

• Right Click the Crate and select "Save Object". Give it a name and you're good to go.

Now you can load the next Campaign Mission and simply load your saved crate and drag out what you need into the warehouse. This way you can easily save your campaign progress between missions and even have different campaigns all running at once, as you can simply have a number of "Progression Crates" saved and ready to go!

How dose the Alien Tech Icon Work

There is a big "black" hexagon in the warehouse. Mouse over it and simply press a number 1 - 13. This will change the icon to the various stages of the Alien Tech token.

I have included my own small variant change to the tech token. Each level will also have a "grey" looking token. This is so when you place a tech token, it is grey. That way you can easily tell if you have added a tech token during this turn. During upkeep you can change this to the colour version.

How do the Agent and Alien Pugs Work

• The Agent Pugs are also dual tokens. Hover your mouse of them and press "2" to switch from the standard version of the pugs to pugs which have "directional facing" marks on them for those playing the "Human View" rules. (I strongly suggest you do)

• If you flip the Agent Pugs you will see a red shaded version of the Agent to signify Bleeding.

• If you flip the Alien Pugs you see the same token with a small yellow mark on it to differentiate it from another alien of the same type.

How does the mission rules work

Each Mission has its own specific rules for that unique mission. These get placed on the table for your convenience. The "hidden" information can be revealed by simply hovering over it and pressing "2".

I have made a Video on you my uTube Channel with all this information

For those of you that are visual learners, I have a small tutorial video demonstrating all these functions of the mod.

Future Plans

As of now all 12 core missions are in the game and scripted. I have not added the 8 special missions found on the Galaxy Defenders Website...... yet.

I will try to update this mod every now and then with one of these missions until the entire Core Set is produced. So expect regular updates. I just wanted to get this out there so people can see it as modding has slowed down because of some of my focus going back to my youtube channel and my upcoming Call of Cthulhu Online Tournament League.

In addition I will most likely be adding the expansions and all of the season 2 kickstarter content as well. Again, keep an eye out for updates.

Mission x1 - The Hive Has been Added!!!

Any errors in map setups please do not hesitate to tell me

The map setup scripts should work fine, but there may be some errors in how I set the maps up.. 12 missions and all that scripting and setup stuff, there is a decent chance i have made a mistake.. if I have please let me know so I can correct it!

Like it Buy It

This game is the brain child of Gremlin Project and published by the good folk at Ares Games using amazing art from Fero Peniche.

Nothing beats playing the real thing.

Sorry, to say but doesn't work at all for me.
So many missing files, I didn't bother to continue to fully load the mod.
The error messages simply didn't stop.

But waiting for an update, nonetheless.
Great game - which deserves to be kept alive!
Thank you for your work.
