The Terminator: Print and Play Demo

Description
This print-and-play demo is just to give you all a taste of the game and know what they are working on. This is NOT a final version!

The Terminator: The Official Board Game is an asymmetrical strategy game for 2-5 players played across two boards: one in 1984 and one in 2029. One player takes control of all of Skynet’s forces: Hunter Killer machines, Terminator cyborgs, and more. The rest of the players take the role of the human resistance, struggling against the impossible odds of the machine uprising. Each of the two game boards play differently: 2029 focuses on light troop and resource management in a lopsided battle for dominance. 1984 focuses on personal missions with high stakes and intense pacing. Missions arise through the course of gameplay, and have players make decisions in 1984 that will affect the future, erasing and adding components in real time.

Note from modder:

I made this really fast because I was excited to playtest the demo, and I love Terminator. Sorry if I messed anything up. Let me know if you have made any better tokens or other assets, and I can add them to the mod to make it look.... more thematic. Thanks.

@ElectricMayhem cheers I've actually ordered a copy via kickstarter so we will see. Bit worried it'll need all the expansions to play well and I'm not prepared to drop that kuch

@the.pikeman It's got a lot of potential, and it's thematic as hell. Some tense chases, lots of strategy, good reasons to fear the Terminator. Also because you move, opponent moves, you move (etc) you can threaten a factory in 2029 and make them stop whatever they're planning in 1984 to address it - I love this. There's also supposed to be more "what you do in this time affects the other timeline/board" stuff in the final game, but it's limited in this demo.

However, it's rough to manage both boards. 2029 definitely didn't get much play compared to the 1984 board. Dice chucking for combat meant a lot of useless encounters between Kyle/Sara and Arnie, I'd like to see more ways to mitigate that.

Definitely something here, and they say they're tweaking the rules between now and release. Not sure I'll back the Kickstarter though. Think it's worth waiting and seeing how the mechanics shake out in the final.

Thanks again @PersianImm0rtal for setting this up!

@ElectricMayhem yes, reload, I put 5 mission cards on the board.
ElectricMayhem 22 Feb, 2017 @ 8:46pm
Correct, but I'm not seeing any mission cards aside from the core missions. If they're supposed to be there, maybe I need to delete and reload.
