Just a few notes. First of all...Mallard was not a dock. It was a ferry slip for the Sacramento Northern car ferry, Ramon, which carried the trains to the North shore of Suisun Bay. Second, ore cars would've been far too heavy to be handled on the SN, let alone on the car ferry or ferry slip. Lastly, the steel mill at Pittsburg doesn't produce steel. It makes steel products using coil rolls. A more realistic scenario would be to have the "juice-jack", as I've heard them called, unloading gondolas full of coiled steel rolls or flat cars full of steel sheets. Just a little bit of history for you.

Good technical work, however why deliver empty hoppers to a loading dock with the locomotive head in. I would think that a string of loaded/empty box cars or flat cars would be more appropriate with a runaround to position the locomotive at the back end.

True, I wonder how it was done in real life? Possibly a heap for coal and a heap for iron Ore off the same siding?

I noticed that while building the scenario. A specific ore drop off point would have been nice while building it.

One other thing I thought of after playing the Coal Delivery, is that it would be worthwhile to run around the Ore wagons and push them into the Coal siding, as there is no specific mention of an ore drop-off point. What do you think?

Oops! I must have forgotten to fill those wagons. I will push out an update today.

Hi, I was most pleased to find a heap of scenarios for this lovely historic line, especially freight shunting. The only thing about these Ore wagons {Iron Ore} for delivery is they should have been loaded with Iron Ore. Other than that I enjoyed this the first of your scenarios that I have played and am most interested in doing some more, which I have already subscribed to.
Roland.
