Water Bottle Flip

Description
America’s latest craze is now brought to PC! You heard that right – Water Bottle Flip captures the thrill of lobbing perfectly good drinking water in plastic bottles through the air and trying to land it upright on various surfaces. This authentic polymeric encapsulated aquatic simulator realistically captures the exquisite arc of the bottle as it sails effortlessly through the air and onto the target! Throw as many water bottles as you like in the comfort of your own PC gaming chair without having to worry about spilling actual water and soaking your carpets! How many can you land consecutively on the table? Can you trick-shot onto the vending machine? Can you simply just land one before casting yourself out into the void out of frustration? Try it out and see!

Vending Machine

To get your first water bottle, and subsequent bottles after that if you happen to lose it, or if you are just parched in general, simply approach the vending machine and press the red button to redeem a water bottle, free of charge!

Throwing

To throw the bottle, hold onto it and swing it gently through the air and press the “E” key at your desired release point to launch it and watch it float effortlessly through the ether and into glory! Try picking up the bottle at different points along the body and/or different orientations for interesting trajectories. You can alter your swing arc and speed to change the spin.

Throwing with Force

To throw the bottle with force, hold onto it and swing it gently through the air and press the “Left Mouse Button” at your desired release point to launch it and watch it float effortlessly through the ether and into glory! You can now change the throwing force by using the "I" and "M" keys to increase / decrease the force respectively. You can also now change the mass of the bottle by using the "U" and "N" keys to increase / decrease the mass respectively. NOTE: Make sure to set the mass before you redeem a water bottle. The water bottle will then be set to the mass indicated. This should allow for a little bit more fidelity in the water bottle physics and should allow for more landings. I was also able to land it on the cap! Once...

Inspect Bottle

The game incorporates an inspection to see if a water bottle has been properly flipped (landed upright). Hover over the water bottle you want to inspect until the hand icon appears. Press the "C" key to check the water bottle. You will be informed if the attempt is successful or not.

All seriousness aside, I was just playing around with the game engine physics to see what it can do and dial in the parameters to try to make the game as realistic as possible. For a simple game, I found actually trying to win is very difficult! Admittedly, I have not been able to properly “flip” (360 degree rotation) a bottle just yet to properly land it but I promise, I was able to throw and land on some attempts (the game screenshot is one of them!). Because it was so difficult, I would say any landing you accomplish anywhere on the platform is valid. If you come up with a technique to consistently stick the landing, please share it! Oh and remember – video… or it didn’t happen! Just Kidding! Enjoy!

I will be posting hints here as well as other content, in case you get stuck. Feel free to have a look. I am interested in delving more into developing 3D solid model assets for games. Please let me know what the interests out there are and what game developers are looking for in terms of 3D solid model assets nowadays. Thanks, and Enjoy!
