Original HECU-sounds from HL1, heavily edited. Watch the video. I know, I know, this mod is unrealistic. What kind of competent soldier would talk to his buddy through walkie-talkie one word at a time when his right next to him? It´s nonsensical, downright moronic! But who gives ♥♥♥♥ if it sounds cool? ;)

P.S.Constructive criticism and suggestions are always welcome. You don´t have to tell me if you don´t like or don´t want to use this mod, it´s useless information for everyone.

Credits goes to Valve and some walkie-talkie-company or whatever...

The original marines have so much personality. All the original sounds are vastly superior. Thanks so much its unplayable without this. GO, RECON!

To the author: There's a HL1 project which managed to remaster all HL1 audio files in pristine quality. I imagine that could help.

@dualfallen I´ve cleaned all audio-files from noise and turned them into 44 kHz. There´s a huge downside to this as the very low-quality files lose a lot of data which I´ve tried to compensate. There´s going to be an overhaul this fall. The walkie-talkie effect is not part of this mod.

It looks like the voices are heavily edited which do work well. Do you think you could quickly walk me through how to recreate that through audio-editing? I know there's the walkie-talkie noise but there also seems to be a general filter over it.
I'd like to replace the combine sounds with the Half Life 1 pain sounds but if I bring it in as is there won't be the sound filter that the other lines have and so they'd stick out.
