Two children return to their village from a hunt to find all is lost.

They had only been gone for a week, but there was nothing left but ash. Desperately, they searched for their families, anyone, but no one had survived. With the knowledge they learnt from their years with the tribe, they set off, and after months of travel, they could not go on. It was time, start a new tribe, or die.
