Description
This mod is part of a collection for people (like myself) that don't have the willpower to resist save-scumming, but also don't want to play on the absurd Legendary Difficulty with all of its AI-related cheats and artificial boosts. This collection replaces the Legendary Level AI bonuses in the game with the equivalent values of any other difficulty level the player chooses. It does not modify any stock Difficulty Level settings other than Legendary.

The mod comes in two parts -- First, a Battle AI difficulty (BAI), and a Campaign AI difficulty (CAI). Decide which combination of the two you would like to use and activate only ONE of EACH in the mod manager. Then fire up the game as normal and when starting a new campaign make sure you select Legendary as your difficulty level. The modded BAI and CAI will override the actual Legendary AI bonuses with the appropriate ones from the lesser difficulty level you have chosen, while still enforcing Ironman mode (no manual or quicksaves, pre/post battles are autosaved so you cannot go back and cheese/replay them).

Read above for instructions on how to use the mod. This particular file enables the vanilla VERY HARD campaign bonuses for the AI on Legendary Difficulty level:

AI Max Confederation Strength: 1.75x
AI Building Construction Cost: -25%
AI Conquest resistance to Occupation: +60%
AI Economy Tax modifier: +40%
AI Recruitment Cost: -45%
AI Unit Upkeep: -20%
AI Unit Replenishment Rate: +7
AI Unit Attrition in Hostile Territories: -70%
AI Effect Growth: +15
AI Effect Horde Growth: +7
AI Public Order Bonus: +8
Player Public Order Bonus: -4
AI Enslave Captives Max Replenishment: 15%
AI Enslave Captives Min Replenishment: 4%
AI Enslave Captives Replenishment Base: 90%
AI Post Battle Ancillary Steal Chance: 20%
Player Enslave Captives Max Replenishment: 10%
Player Enslave Captives Min Replenishment: 3%
Player Enslave Captives Replenishment Base: 70%
Player Post Battle Ancillary Steal Chance: 5%
Player Additional Army Upkeep Modifier: +4%

None of the CAIs in this collection alter anything related to the AI's diplomacy personalities, the AI's build priorities, the AI's perceived threat priorities, nor any quest/mission related priorities and timers. The purpose of this mod collection is to simply tone down the artificial boosts given (while maintaining Ironman), not to completely rewrite the vanilla AI. This means that even with the Very Hard Difficulty CAI enabled, in all other aspects of your game you will be dealing with a "smarter" Legendary AI, just stripped of its outrageous bonuses.

It is. Both the "realistic battles" and the inability to pause and issue orders during battle are contained within the exe itself, and unfortunately not moddable.

Okay good to know. Guess the 'realistic battles' setting is impossible to remove?

It'll work with anything. Worse thing that can happen is it breaks balance for mods that customize the difficulty.

Hey dude. just wanna say that I love the mod - kind of like xcom 2. Do you know if it works with other mods such as radious?

Could you make it so the AI gets all the legendary cheats but for very hard. I want to play legendary but I dont like the fact I cant save my game myself.
