If you want to see how this build did in early game , Vendrien Well. Then check this video here , it includes both Iron Marshal and Fifth Eye in Ascension Hall fights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atzBKRb2Opw

Records/Performance Stats:

General Tips
  • Origin: Guild Apprentice | Starting Stats :
    18 Might - 14 Fin - 10 Quick - 10 Vit - 8 Wits - 8 Res
    >> Focus on Mights then Finesse after , Quickness for cd then finally Vit. I spend all startting skill points into lore. Started with dual wield for primary and 2-hand for secondary expertise. This way you will get Fury of Blows and Sunder as starting skills.

  • Wear light gears , max riposte early!
This build starts really well early on because bare hands cant parry , so you will be using dodge against both melee and ranged attacks , therefore you will only level up one defensive stat. No need to 1 point into Arrow Shield , yay!

  • Eat lot consumables before big fight, my menu: 6-600s foods , 3-300s foods , 2-120s foods
You can buy foods from a merchant in disfavored camp , keep in mind food doesnt restock but usually found from looting, poisons in Scarlet Camp.
In Act ll , you can buy 600s foods in Brothel , other consumables can be create or buy in Infirmary.

  • Eat skycap to upgrade your spells
To my knowledge there are 2 skycap to be found in Vendrien Well. One in the tutorial area , one in the area where you are stopped by the Oathbreakers and Eb. Eat Skycap to increase your Lore for a limited time , use that to upgrade your spells with better modifications.
In Act ll , you can research for skycap in Library then craft it in Infirmary.

  • Keep kiting enemies unless you are confident that you are strong enough
To take 3 or more enemies at once. Heres how to kite: get enemy attention then run far away to lose enemies sight then fight those who are still chasing you. All battles in Vendrien Well is kiteable , even the one in Ascension Hall, though not recommended as its supposed to be your "test" challenge.

  • Rebel Route: Lethian > Recruit Bronze Brotherhood > Stone Sea > Stonestalker > ...
  • Anarchy Route: Burning Library > Stone Sea > ...
    >> This way you will get 3 first spires early. To get stone spells , travel to half-gate , go into the house where the earthshaker is being locked. You MUST choose option [Why would i want to do that] , then he will offer to teach you Stone spell , choose > [Keep Talking] > [Nod and kill him ] then you will gain access to stone spells after he dies.

  • In Conquest Mode
Give Lethian to Scarlet Chorus so you can have easier time re-taking it against the Chorus. Unarmed build lacks armor pen early on so you will have hard time beating the Disfavored if you give it to them instead. This way will make sure you have easier time starting act ll and still have a brothel to use.

  • Get Forge up early , just rush to Lethian's Crossing and unlock the Aurora Spire
Dont receive any quests that related to that location or you will be locked out of the spire until you are finished with that quest! You can buy Rockbite Gloves from Ragus in Forge as well as upgrading your gears . Rockbite Gloves is crucial for this build , it wrecks armors.

  • Get Infirmay/Library next in Stone Sea
Library for spells merchant and plans resreach. Focus on resreaching drugs/items for consumables plans to be used in Infirmay.
Use Infirmary to buy consumables , they are cheap , not to mention while soloing , you are swimming in $$$. Use resources to craft rare consumabels like rot spear ( +4 Might ) or Skycap for upgrading spells.

  • Eat Skycap and wear accessories / gears that +Wits/Res to increase Lore
This way you will be able to add even more accents into your spells without having the required lore. Even when the effects ran out , the spell will still usuable.

  • These are all the general tips
I can give , if you happen to stuck at somewhere , lemme know and i might be able to help.

This build seems to be completely invalid. I can barely survive story mode with it.

How do you beat the very first fight? I cant solo even two enemies at a time with this build

The riposte/duelist talents don't work with Unarmed.

how did you get a heal spell in act I?

Thank you, I'm stuck on the Havoc but I'm trying repeatedly. To be able to do this on PoTD, Trial of Iron and Expert mode, you are truly at the top of the mastery list for this game!

Monk build usually have troubles dealing with them cause it lack high single target damage. Without the weapon spells , you will deal almost no damage to it. After throwing all attacks , your buffs pretty much gone , thats why you need to backout if its nowhere near death and prepare buffs for another engage , without it aura , it attacks usually dont pose much threat.

Check the video , start at 8:47 to see me taking on the group of the red and blue one first. Then small group of them with 2 Malices at once to see how i do.

Incase you also may have troubles with the Havoc. Eat foods , especially the +damage one if you have them , focus down the Havoc , if it dies the rest dies. Otherwise , play it safe , kill the small ones and finish the Havoc after , dont pay attention to the Malices. I also had 2 examples of 2 Havoc battles in the video , check them out.

You can cheese them , Go in and get on thier sight then run straight back , the red one are fast , kill them first quickly then the blue arrives after , beware of your health bar because the blues explode once dead and will take a decent chunk of health if you dont pay attention.

Then finally the malice:
♦ use |Charge| in with full buffs , thorw out 3 highest attacking skills you have , finish it off. If not , back out. ( i usually |Sunder| > |Furry Blows| > |Skull Cracker|
♦ Buff Mirror and Blur to dodge it range attack.
♦ Heal if needed , only go back in at full health.
♦ Go back in once you got all the weapon spells back up again.
Never try to rebuff while fighting near the Malice or it will remove all your buffs fairly quickly. That debuff aura of it proc every 1s and it also deal true damage so yeah , pretty lethal.

Lost Sinner this is a great guide, but I have been having a lot of difficulty with the malice in Lethian Oldwalls. Their aura is deadly, it strips off all the consumable and spell buffs, any hints for beating those guys?

@Armani , for the early game , focus i getting duelist lll for riposing , then make your way to the Power tree like shown in the video.

once you reach act ll , start putting points in +lore and +spell slots talents because you are going to have interesting spells/accents from now on. After gettting those two , you can focus on either Power or Agility tree however you want.
> Focus on Power Tree for single target damage , it gives bonus dmg for unarmed attacks , chances to inflict mutiple strikes and finally a huge single burst attack.
> Focus on Agility Tree for utility attack like a gap close , an interrupting kick , some defensive passive like Blade Dancing for bonus graze/hit deflection , finally an good aoe attack.
