The North American B-25 Mitchell is an American twin-engine, medium bomber manufactured by North American Aviation (NAA). It was named in honor of Major General William "Billy" Mitchell, a pioneer of U.S. military aviation.

The B-25J had a transparent nose, but many of the delivered aircraft were modified to have a strafer nose. Most of its 14–18 machine guns were forward-facing for strafing missions, including the two guns of the forward-located dorsal turret.
