Description
Part of the mod pack for Eclipse Server (use eclipseserver.space to connect)

The Radar block is a block that allows you to scan objects within your view distance.
Note that for multiplayer/DS the view distance is configured server side. Also, procedural asteroids can be over view distance (max distance is still how far your radar scans).
The radar scans once every 100 frames (1.6sec at 1.0sim). The objects it detects are dependent on the distance you are from that object, as well as the size of the object.

The radar block, when enabled, acts like a beacon. The distance it scans is the distance people can see you at. Keep that in mind when using it. It is an "Active" radar, meaning it is very very noisy to others, and is why it is seen as a beacon. Other players can see you using the radar, so be careful.

When enabled, the radar actively scans the area and can spot:
a) Asteroids
b) Ships
c) Stations
d) Astronauts

The distance at which the radar spots objects depends on the size of the object.
The larger the object, the easier it is to see.

By default, the radar will show everything on your HUD in the format: ObjectType Size
IE Ship 150m means that it's a ship with bounding box 150m across from corner to corner.

Use /Radar command to show what is being shown on your HUD as well as to change the filter or toggle the hud on/off.
Options: Asteroids, NoAsteroids, Ships, NoShips, Stations, NoStations, Characters, NoCharacters, HUD (case insensitive).
IE /Radar NoAsteroids Stations hud will hide asteroids, show stations, and toggle hud (ships and characters are not changed).
use /Radar with no options to show the current filter options.
These settings are not saved and are only for YOUR HUD, someone else sitting in a passenger seat on your ship will be able to see radar output on their HUD according to their settings.

You may also output scan results directly to LCDs formatted for GPS.
Add [Radar] to your LCD's name then add your filter options in the Custom Data field.
IE Asteroids Ships Stations would show you Asteroids Ships and Stations but not Characters on your LCD.
LCD Output is sorted so that the closest object is the highest on the list.

Sound blocks work in the same way, but keep in mind they are triggered on every update (100frames or 1.6sec at 1.0sim), so you may want to have your sound block on your hotbar to turn it off once it is triggered.
Also, it will only play the loaded sound, so if you want to have one sound play for characters and another for stations just use two sound blocks.

Outputting to LCD or triggering sound blocks does not require you to be in the cockpit of the ship.

You cannot rename the radar block, it will always revert to the name "Radar".
This is to make sure everyone knows that they are being scanned and it isn't just someone's antenna.

Radar blocks will not work unless they are owned, and will not output results to you unless you are the owner or the block is shared with you by someone in your faction.

No, just a quick hack to hide stuff that is static inside an asteroid, but its a bit broken... On my to-do list of things to rewrite.
