Assideum

Description
This workshop entry has approval by Assideum Corp.

Assideum is a chess style game for two players.
The object of assideum is to capture your opponent’s Commander. Players execute one option per turn and alternate turns until victory is attained.

The current pieces are based on the old software released by Assideum Corp. Simpler tokens are being used with the possibility of a standee version soon. 3d models are planned.

Scripting is used to quickly (re)set the board up between the available themes. More quality of life features may be added in the future such as highlighting possible moves.

For availability of this game please visit the developer website at http://www.assideum.com/ (may be temporarily down) or check out board gaming related sites online.

As an FYI:
Will be working on new tokens and some other things for this in the near future. No ETA's on release though.

Rules
  1. Have fun!
  2. On your turn, if you touch a piece you must move that piece.
  3. Remember to always clearly point the Ranger or the Portals only towards the front, the back or to either side.
  4. Saying “Siege” when you place your opponents Commander in jeopardy is required.
  5. You must tell your opponent if they make a move that leaves their Commander in jeopardy. A different move must be made.
  6. Do not disturb or distract your opponent or interfere with any other games. Please, keep the noise down.
  7. While your game is in progress, do not talk about it with anyone.
  8. All players will be trusted to be on their own honour for not stalling on their move to simply use up the remaining time.
  9. Remember; always congratulate each other at the end of a game. You have likely earned each other’s respect and hopefully stretched your minds and had a little fun.
  10. Have fun!

Individual rules and information:

About
Type
Commander
Simply put, no force is more important than the Commander.
The Commander may move one square per turn in any direction.
Ground
Ved’rin
The Ved’rin are the backbone of the Ground Forces. Ved’rin are slow moving,
but there is strength in numbers.

Ved’rin may move one square per turn in any forward direction. When it reaches the opponent’s back row, the Ved’rin is allowed to move like the Commander, one square in any direction.
Ground
Striker
The Striker’s speed makes it a superb attack vehicle.
Strikers may move the full distance of the battle grid, but only in a straight line, forward or backward, left or right.
Ground
Cruiser
The heavy Cruiser is often considered the most powerful of the Ground Forces.
The Cruiser possesses all of the movement abilities of the Striker, plus it can move diagonally.
Ground
Ranger
Although slow moving, the Ranger’s fire power makes it feared by Ground and Flying Forces alike.
The Ranger moves and captures the same as the Commander, one square in any direction. In addition a Ranger can attack without moving by using Ranger Fire or can move by spinning.
Ground
Portal
The skilled player quickly learns that the successful deployment of the Portal and its corresponding Fighter can have devastating results.
Portals move and capture the same as the Commander, one square in any direction, in addition they too can spin. Portals control the flight zone of the Fighter (explained later), but, remember, Portals are effective Ground Forces on their own.
Ground
Fighter
A flying Fighter can win a campaign single-handedly when its Portal is creatively deployed.
Fighters, when flying, are also impervious to direct ground attack. Fighters fly in the flight zone established by one or both Portals.
