By CobaltNinja
Rip and tear, until it is done.

Here is my version on how to Berserker. Any tips from professionals are greatly appreciated.
also remember that the Berserker can be speedy instead of tanky with the right setup! The link following this sentence will take you to dat guide. link

Hello again
Hey, it's me again. You remember me? I was that guy who made the guide on support[www.example.com]. Yeah. Anyways, you're unlikely to see me in any difficulty except Suicidal for a heads-up.

The reason I'm posting this is because I have played quite a bit of Berserker and have honed my skills. Again, I'm not 25 but I hope this information will do.
Skill Sets
Berserker is mainly focused on tanking and taking all the big boys on while the rest of the team annihilates them from a distance. He's also a good trash cleaner while he's at it. Berserker survivability is very high, and can take on almost any situation (don't burn to death in two ways at once).

LEVEL 5:
Skirmisher (You'll want to regenerate health often, so having 75 extra health can make you less wary of your health and get you killed. Plus 2 health per second is really good, and so is the movement speed. Also, 75 extra health just makes you whine for medic more.)

LEVEL 10:
Vampire (This is the obvious choice. Berserker being a good trash cleaner synergizes well with this. 4 health from any kill is a lot when you're talking HoE.)

LEVEL 15:
Either (Yeah. Either. It depends; do you prefer parrying consistently or ripping and tearing? Take Parry for, y'know. Take Resistance if you like going on the offensive.)

LEVEL 20:
Massacre (Light attacks give a higher DPS.)

LEVEL 25:
Spartan (It's all about taking the trash out and distracting the big zeds, right? With Berserker Rage you'll only regenerate part of your health and every zed will flee, plus no realtime movement. Spartan could let you regen more with Vampire.)

Arsenal:
It's varied. These presets are usually good:

Zwei/Katana + Pulv, Medpistol
Eviscerator + Katana, Medpistol
Tips and Tricks
Berserker is slightly more complicated than the others. You'll be much weaker at lower levels, but trust in the fact that patience will be rewarded.

Always flee if you're not confident you'll survive, or use the Eviscerator in that kind of emergency (that's the only time you'll use it other than headshotting Scrakes and Fleshpounds).

As stated above, use the Eviscerator/Pulveriser to take Scrakes/Fleshpounds down. Otherwise you're asking for a death wish (unless you have a Katana on you, because you'll probably get something stronger by the time the Fleshpounds appear to pound)

Aim for the face. Always. Yes, it's melee weapons, but headshots still count! Plus you might decapitate a zed. Heads are gonna roll. Especially with Eviscerator, one sawblade to the face can take down a scrake on Suicidal.

Fun fact: You can press the reload key while there's blood on your weapon to play an animation that cleans the blood off and possibly make a stain on the ground (excluding Eviscerator)

Use heavy when you have to melee medium (husks, sirens) to large (scrakes, fleshpounds) zeds. You can put them into stunlock.

Don't use the VLAD nailgun unless you are playing on Normal or Hard. It's not ammo efficient and costly to use. The only time you can get it is if you know what you're doing.

Remember that the Eviscerator does ♥♥♥♥ damage on a body shot. However, a headshot will do WAY more than a measly 1.1x damage boost.

Use any guns you have when you fled from a fight and at low health until you regenerate to at least 80 health.
The End
Again. Yep. Short.

Please donate information n' stuff. The usual.
Give a like or a downlike, doesn't matter to me

good guide just would like to add a couple things incase anyone else stumbles upon this.

1) if you have a good medic then definitely take butcher. For solo, no medic, or if your medic is overloaded take vampire. Vampire always for the early waves since you really don't need the extra damage for clots etc.
2)Massacre is more dps but light attacks with katana/bonecracker already do adequate damage to clear trash quickly, dps doesn't take into account the fact that you move around dodging attacks a lot, and smash is really useful for medium/big zeds. Smash also benefits the eviscerator more than massacre.
3)I usually take resistance if I take butcher, and parry if I take vampire. That way I always have some kind of damage buff. If I'm playing with a good medic or everyone has medic weapons, I take both for maximum damage.

I'd argue that the nailgun is amazing with vampire since you can back out of a fight with low HP and shotgun a group a few times and get most your HP back

Yeah I guess that makes sense, I think am gonna try that out
CobaltNinja  [author] 30 Dec, 2016 @ 9:01am
I prefer Skirmisher since you can escape from a fight easily and you don't have to wait for your syringe to recharge to get back into the fight.

Yeah I know but I was just saying that vampire and +75 health is good (Or atleast that what I think)
CobaltNinja  [author] 30 Dec, 2016 @ 8:55am
Um, I said vampire is GOOD.
Wabba 29 Dec, 2016 @ 7:45pm
75 + vampire is not bad, just make sure you are spamming the hell out of the left click button on the enemy
