Casual Eli Vance (Ragdoll, PM, NPC)

I gave it some thought, and low and behold, I bring you another Casual Half-Life 2 character, Eli Vance!


-4 Ragdolls (Casual, and not so casual; normal Eli with a prosthetic leg, and one with both legs)
-4 Playermodels (same as ragdolls)
-4 NPCs (same as ragdolls)
-First person arm for PM
-Loads of bodygroups (hats, shirts, gloves, glasses, pants, shoes, outfits etc. etc.)

(Because of the pms/npcs, there are 12 "ragdolls" but for posing, make sure you only use the ones without the suffix _pm or _npc)


Hats:

eli_hat1 = boonie
eli_hat2 = beanie
eli_hat3 = fedora
eli_hat4 = newsboy cap

Top:

eli_shirt1 = stripey bluey shirt
eli_shirt 2 = grey T-shirt
eli_shirt 3 = plaid cyan(ish) shirt
eli_shirt 4 = long sleeve work shirt

Bottoms:

eli_pants1 = tan jeans
eli_pants2 = long pants
eli_pants3 = short green pants
eli_pants4 = athletic blue shorts

Shoes:

eli_shoes1 = normal shoes
eli_shoes2 = boots
eli_shoes3 = thongs
eli_shoes4 = cons
eli_shoes5 = sports shoes

I know I wasn't really planning to after I finished Casual Gordon, but as I said, I gave it thought, and since I have a little bit more time, and less other projects to do, well, why not? I know, most people were wanting a Casual Barney, but hang on, I'm getting there!

I decided to do Eli first, well, because to me, he's more, shall I say? A beloved character compared to Barney (even though I missed him in Ep2). Yeah, and well, turned out he was easier to work on first either way, (mostly because I can't decide which Barney head version to use, the detailed one from workshop, or default HL2 Barney which isn't very detailed). However, I am planning to do Barney, just that he might take longer.

Although, sure, that probably sounds like I should do the rest of the HL2 characters as casual (not including citizens), characters like Breen, but no, as much as it would be awesome to get a full series of Casual Half-Life 2 (as I call it), I have to limit myself. These things, they take time, and I don't have all the time in the world. However...I may, just may lightly consider Casual Kleiner, but if I did him, I won't do anybody else (Breen, Mossman, Odessa, or Magnusson). That would be because they aren't very important characters to me, and I don't actually like half of them.

Q: Why can't the prosthetic leg just be a bodygroup on the main ragdolls, instead of there having to be 4?
A: Crowbar wouldn't compile it, so apparently, there is a limit on how many bodygroups there can be, and I hit the limit. :\

Q: How is Casual Gordon and Casual Alyx addon files so large, compared to this which is half their size, yet essentially has the same amount of bodygroups and even bodygrouped hats?

A: Because they used "uncompressed textures" which means the detail of the textures is better, but increases the file size, (not texture scale), from say, i.e. 1MB to 5MB. This uses compressed textures, which means the texture file size is smaller, but the quality is not the greatest it can be. I usually go for quality over quantity, but I didn't want complaints on the file size, if some people can't download that large.

Q: Why does part of his mouth open when I pose his eyes downward?
A: That's a weird problem I have no idea how to fix atm, you'll just have to deal with it for now.

Q: Will you do Casual Kleiner?
A: Maybe, I'll think about it.

Q: Why does this crash my game?
A: How should I know? It's probably your PC specs or certain addons.

Me (TFE): Rigging/boneweighting and making body with Fuse, and retextures in Fuse, editing pratically everything (which took ages, probably over a week).
