Introduction

Note: There have been look-a-like copycat guides popping up. If it's not labeled by THN (The Horror Network), it's NOT one of mine and therefore not up to the quality that I aim to provide.

Welcome to the Bioshock Remastered achievement guide.

In order to obtain all achievements, you only really need one playthrough. However, since difficulty does affect achievements, some may find it more beneficial to do two playthroughs. Survivor difficulty (highest) with Vita-Chambers disabled while Rescuing (NOT Harvesting) all Little Sisters is optimal for one playthrough. If you find Survivor difficulty too tedious, attempt your first playthrough on Hard instead, still with Vita-Chambers disabled.

With Vita-Chambers disabled, if you die then you're dead; this means relying heavily on constant saving and utilizing multiple save slots. The only thing that makes this hard and annoying is the constant crashing that Bioshock Remastered likes to do currently.

It is imperative that you RESCUE all of the Little Sisters in order to gain the maximum amount of ADAM needed for upgrades, and also for a bonus achievement!

*** If Your Game Crashes!!! ***
* As soon as you reload your save, CHANGE THE DIFFICULTY SETTING. Crashes cause all custom settings to go back to default.
* As above for disabling Vita-Chambers.

Also, in order to obtain all achievements do NOT kill Cohen in Fort Frolic.

01-12-2018: Changing difficulty in lighthouse from Survivor to more easy (played on Medium) and then again on Survivor difficulty before fight with Atlas still works!

Hacking
Depending on what you're good at, hacking can be either tedious or fun. You must solve a fairly simple puzzle of tubes; connecting the appropriate tube types to lead the liquid from the start of the puzzle to the end. If you're having problems, autohack tools and cash buyouts also count toward the below achievements.

One Successful Hack
Perform at least one successful hack.
A no brainer, but missable if one never hacks at all.

Skilled Hacker
Successfully complete 50 hacks.
As mentioned above, autohack tools and buyouts work for this achievement if you're not good at the puzzles, or if you're like me and you're lazy. This achievement should come with no issues, as there are no shortages of turrets, cameras, bots, safes, and vending machines in Rapture.

Hacked a Security Bot
Successfully hack a security bot.
These are the enemies that fly around. The first one you'll see is laying on the ground, keeping a door from closing.

Hacked a Security Camera
Successfully hack a Security Camera.
You'll notice a Security Camera by its red light. Stand underneath it in order to hack it, to prevent yourself from getting attacked by Security Bots.

Hacked a Turret
Successfully hack a Turret.
In order to hack a Turret, you must first use your Electro-Bolt Plasmid to shock it. Then you can safely walk up to it and hack it.

Hacked a Vending Machine
Successfully hack a Vending Machine.
Either the Circus of Value or Ammo Bandito.

Hacked a Safe
Successfully hack a safe.
There are tons of safes in Rapture, and a lot of them have valuable goodies inside. Hack away!
Research
You will eventually obtain a camera. In order to "research" enemies, you must take their photograph. Dead enemies will only give you a small amount of research, while you can successfully photograph living enemies about 5 times; each time the research amount given gets smaller.

To maximize the research that you gain per enemy, attempt to photograph them while they are in groups, while your camera is in focus, and while they are attacking for "action" shots. You have a limited amount of film, so keep an eye out for cameras and film canisters laying around the environment.

Quality Research Photo
Take a Research Photo of the highest grade.
This isn't as hard as it may sound. Just follow the general tips that I listed above, and you should get it within your first handful of photographs. If you're having trouble, click the right stick of your controller to zoom in and try to get a nice up-close shot of the enemy.

Prolific Photographer
Take at least one photo in every research group.
You must take at least one photograph of every enemy; Leadhead, Thuggish, Spider, Houdini, and Nitro Splicers, Bouncer and Rosie Big Daddies, a Little Sister, a Turret, a Security Camera, and a Security Bot.

Research PhD
Max out all possible research.
You must fully complete all research, including the Turret, the Security Camera, and the Security Bot. To make the latter appear, it's easiest to activate the bot alarm by standing infront of a camera until it triggers.

Fully Researched a Leadhead Splicer
Fully research the Leadhead Splicer.
Leadhead Splicers are the ones with guns. They are abundant throughout Rapture, so you should have no problem getting this achievement in a normal playthrough.

Fully Researched a Thuggish Splicer
Fully research the Thuggish Splicer.
Thuggish Splicers are the ones with melee weapons. They are just as prevalent as the aforementioned Splicers, so you shouldn't have an issue here.

Fully Researched a Spider Splicer
Fully research the Spider Splicer.
Spider Splicers are the ones with hooks for hands. They're usually found crawling on the ceiling and walls. Although they aren't as common as the Leadhead or Thuggish Splicers, there are still plenty to go around. Just keep your eyes open. They are more common in later areas of the game.

Fully Researched a Houdini Splicer
Fully research the Houdini Splicer.
Houdini Splicers are the ones that disappear and reappear, and they also use Plasmids. They can be a pain to photograph since they like to vanish so frequently, but just keep your camera at the ready when you spot one. There aren't a ton of them, so maximize any opportunity you have with one.

Fully Researched a Nitro Splicer
Fully research the Nitro Splicer.
Nitro Splicers are the ones that throw grenades at you. They're fairly rare, and only appear in the early and late parts of the game, so keep your eyes open for them.

Fully Researched a Bouncer
Fully research the Bouncer.
Bouncer is the most common Big Daddy, and you can easily tell him apart from Rosie. He is broader, has heavier footsteps, and a louder, deeper groan. Big Daddies will respawn endlessly throughout levels. If you are having problems getting him to respawn, leave the area and come back.

Fully Researched a Rosie
Fully research the Rosie.
Rosie is a type of Big Daddy. She looks different than Bouncer, as there's a slight feminine look to her. She also wears striped sleeves, unlike Bouncer. Big Daddies will respawn endlessly throughout levels. If you are having problems getting her to respawn, leave the area and come back.

Fully Researched a Little Sister
Fully research the Little Sister.
There are more than enough Little Sisters to go around for this achievement. Since they're always with a Big Daddy, conserve your film by researching the Big Daddies and Little Sisters together by getting them in the same shot.
Upgrades
Weapon Upgrades are obtained by visiting Power to the People stations. These stations are scattered throughout Rapture, and thankfully none of them are missable. If you do happen to miss one, simply revisit the location prior to defeating Atlas.

A map showing the location of the 12 Power to the People stations can be found here.[guides.gamepressure.com]

Upgraded a Weapon
Acquire at least one weapon upgrade.
Obtained by visiting one Power to the People station.

One Fully Upgraded Weapon
Fully upgrade one weapon.
Obtained by visiting two Power to the People stations, and using both on one weapon.

Two Fully Upgraded Weapons
Fully upgrade two weapons.
Obtained by having visited four Power to the People stations, and using two on two different weapons.

Three Fully Upgraded Weapons
Fully upgrade three weapons.
Obtained by having visited six Power to the People stations, and using two on three different weapons.

Four Fully Upgraded Weapons
Fully upgrade four weapons.
Obtained by having visited eight Power to the People stations, and using two on four different weapons.

Five Fully Upgraded Weapons
Fully upgrade five weapons.
Obtained by having visited ten Power to the People stations, and using two on five different weapons.

Weapon Specialist
Acquire all upgrades for all weapons.
Obtained by having visited twelve Power to the People stations, and using two on six different weapons.
Crafting
Basic Inventer
Invent at least one item.
Visit any U-Invent station to create items. You will need to gather crafting materials from boxes, corpses, and the environment.

Avid Inventor
Successfully invent at least 100 items.
Basically, hoard everything and create the item that costs the least amount of resources. The description is a little misleading, you do not have to craft 100 different items, just 100 in total.

Ammo Inventor
Invent all possible ammunication types.
Easy enough with the right collection of materials. Make sure to loot as many corpses, desks, crates, safes, and other containers as you can.
End Game
Dealt with every Little Sister
Either Harvest or Rescue every Little Sister in the game.
For this achievement, you must find each Little Sister throughout Rapture. This shouldn't be difficult, and I did it without a guide for finding them. Simply listen for heavy Big Daddy footsteps, and their loud groans. If you see a Big Daddy without a Little Sister, follow him around until he summons one from the vents on the walls.

Little Sister Savior
Complete the game without harvesting any Little Sisters.
For this achievement, you can go the entire game without even bothering with Little Sisters, so long as you Rescue the initial one that you are forced to take care of. HOWEVER, if you are going for the one playthrough completion, you must find and Rescue all of them.

Found Cohen's Room
The player has entered Sander Cohen's personal quarters in Mercury Suites.
Do NOT kill Cohen in Fort Frolic, otherwise you forfeit this achievement and the one below. Cohen's apartment is easy enough to find, as his name is above the door. Simply enter and kill the two dancers, Cohen will storm out of his room. Kill him and enter his bedroom.

Irony
The player has taken a picture of Sander Cohen's corpse.
After you kill him in his apartment, take a picture of his body.

Seriously Good at This
Complete the game on the hardest difficulty setting.
It's no longer the hardest setting, so this achievement is a bit misleading. You must beat the game on Hard difficulty. *Confirmed by Tarvu: You can start the game on Hard, change it to Easy at the light house, and change it back to Hard before the fight with Atlas to still get the achievement.

Brass Balls
Complete the game on Hard difficulty without using a Vita-Chamber.
The best way to ensure that you do not accidentally use a Vita-Chamber is to disable the option in the main menu. Save frequently to avoid losing much progress if you die.

A Man Chooses
The player has beaten the game on Survivor difficulty.
As the description states, you must beat the game on Survivor difficulty, which is the hardest in Bioshock. *Confirmed by Tarvu: You can start the game on Survivor, change it to Easy at the light house, and change it back to Survivor before the fight with Atlas to still get the achievement.

I Chose the Impossible
Complete the game on Survivor difficulty without using a Vita-Chamber.
The best way to ensure that you do not accidentally use a Vita-Chamber is to disable the option in the main menu. Save frequently to avoid losing much progress if you die.
Misc.
Historian
Find every audio diary.
There are 122 audio diaries in total. This may sound daunting and time consuming, but it's honestly not that bad. Plus, in order to fully understand the story you need to collect these anyway. A full list of audio diary locations can be found here.[www.supercheats.com]

Toaster in the Tub
Shock an enemy in the water.
Use your Electro-Bolt Plasmid to zap an enemy as they are standing in water.

Lucky Winner
Hit the jackpot at a slot machine.
Just keep playing one of the slot machines in Fort Frolic, you'll eventually hit a jackpot. It shouldn't take too long. Save before trying.

Bought One Slot
Purchase a Plasmid Slot or Tonic Slot in any track.
Bought using ADAM at a Gatherer's Garden machine.

Maxed One Track
Purchased every slot in one of the Plasmid or Tonic tracks.
This is why Rescuing all of the Little Sisters is so important. All slots cost ADAM at Gatherer's Garden machines. Buy all seven slots in any Plasmid or Tonic track.

Maxed All Tracks
Purchase every slot in all four Plasmid and Tonic tracks.
Just as it states, you will need to purchase all seven slots in all of the Plasmid and Tonic tracks.

Tonic Collector
Collect or Invent 53 Tonics in the Physical, Engineering and Combat tracks.
There are well over 50 Tonics available in Bioshock. I was able to obtain this achievement from simple exploration; no guides or inventing needed. You should get this one about three levels from the end of the game.

“The ‘I’ in Team” – Pacifist

Simply do not put any Target Dummies in front of the turrets, and have as many First Aids on hand as you can gather. Not advised to do in conjunction with Expert.

I can confirm that you can unlock all the difficulty achievements (and the Vita-Chamber ones, if you turned them off) by just changing the difficulty to Survivor right before you defeat Atlas/Fontaine.

(I played through the game on Medium, read the comments on this guide, reloaded my Medium save at the Atlas/Fontaine fight, got his ADAM down to the last one, changed the difficulty to Survivor, then drained his ADAM one last time thus getting all the achievements)

I've never used a guide in my life and for the first time I wanted to try it out to one of my favorite games of all time. The achievements were a bitch for my first ever guide follow but god I was so thankful for THN. Easy and simple instruction's to every achievement you need. Did this all in one run, the Challenge maps weren't even close to hard, for a moment I thought it seemed impossible, I stopped doing the achievements for like a month because I thought it was hard, but once I sat my ass down and gave an hour or two for the extra shit, boom, I got 100%. I have beaten BS2 and 100% that one and that one wasn't even as close to hard as this game was, with like 12 extra achievements on the first one, THN guided me through it perfectly, for my first ever guide experience to follow I thank thee. Guide 10/10. P.S if you say that you missed something and blamed the guide (THN), you just dumb, I damn smoked 9 bowls a day through out this game play and never missed a damn thing. -SN
