Absolution - Vanilla - OmegaConstruct

Description
Note: this world was designed and looks best using plaYer2k's Darky Shader Mod[forum.keenswh.com] and the accompanying Darkness Enhancer and No glare on interior Lights. Please use these to see the ship's aesthetic in the way it was intended (lighting matters). These don't change gameplay or add parts, but make the game look so much better in my opinion.

Step forward in your search for Absolution.

(just walk up to the front of the ship)

Absolution is named after the book Absolution Gap, part of Alastair Reynolds' Revelation Space series (fantastic sci-fi space opera, if that's your kind of thing). In the book, there are massive vehicles called Cathedrals that continually traverse a planet, never stopping. This was my inspiration.

Absolution is a mobile hover craft base complete with absolutely everything needed for survival. The ship is 100% vanilla and survival ready. It features a massive drill rig capable of drilling 100m under the surface of the ground, stone and ice overflow ejectors, a full complement of refineries, assemblers, arc furnaces, dual oxygen sources, dual power sources, 6 large storage containers, medical room, cryopods for a crew of four, and meteor defense turrets. It uses 6 scripts - TIM, CAL, airlocks, diagnostics, velocity vector, and solar panel alignment (the last is currently off because Klang is a bastard). The ship is completely airtight with airlocks (turned off currently, as it is on a planet with an atmosphere), and has landing pads for two small craft on the aft platforms. It has a docking bay for a large ship hover craft for defensive/offensive capabilities, and two small hover craft for as scouts. There are four suites/staterooms topped by an obelisk of worship (a reference to the book mentioned above). I hope you enjoy Absolution.

Klang warnings:
The wheel safety lock acts as a brake.
The front entrance elevator should only be used on ice sheets or exceptionally flat ground or it will break.
Drilling - same as above. Only mine with the brakes (wheel safety locks) engaged.
Connecting to the smaller ships with landing gear can cause explosions. It shouldn't explode upon opening, but after that all bets are off.
The solar panel alignment script was broken by a recent update; it sort of works, but not great. I have it turned off, because when it was on the rotors had a tendency to explode upon loading.
This ship was an unfortunate case of making something too complex for the game to handle easily. I could spend months tweaking everything perfectly, but it would be an exercise in frustration. As it is, half of my time building this ship was spent reverting to backup saves to figure out why something exploded.

Special thanks to DrNiggle for his help in testing and aesthetic design. I couldn't have done it without him - check out his workshop for some awesome stuff.
