Arcanum was released in 2001. Back just before widescreen monitors became a thing. Its default resolution is 800x600.

While you can run it in this resolution it's much more ideal to install a fanmade mod that extends the resolution. This guide will go over where to find it and how to install it.

Run the .exe and you'll be presented with this


Make sure you navigate to your Arcanum Steam folder. This is normally located in

C:\program files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arcanum\Arcanum

Note there is an Arcanum folder inside the Arcanum folder. That is where you want the installer to point to.

After that the installer should extract all of the files and a DOS prompt should pop up.



Choose if you want to display the readme with Y or N to continue.



Press I to install the mod as directed. It will prompt you with what resolution you'd like



Input your desired resolution as follows. Then the mod should prompt you for some optional resizing. Such as for the options menu and the fonts



Annnnnnd you're done. :) Now just start the game and you'll be in your desired resolution.
