What can I do with this badge?
You can't do much with this badge, actually nothing. But the things that you get after crafting it, can be useful and can be used. You get an emoticon, which you can sell and buy skins of or buy more trading cards to craft some more badges. You get a background, you can put it on your profile if you like it, or you sell it and do the same thing as you can do with the emoticon. The last thing you get is a coupon, you can use it or maybe trade it with someone else. You can't sell it on the market.
So what are the advantages and disadvantages of this badge?
+ XP, it levels up your steam account which can be useful. Because after every 10 levels you receive a friends list slot of 5 and you unlock 1 profile showcase. + A higher lvl on your account looks better.
+ Money, you get an emoticon and a background after crafting the badge. Which you can sell and sometimes even get a profit out of it. Because some items you get are more expensive than the trading cards them selfs.
+ The badge, the badge itself is quite cool in my opinion.
+ Trading cards, the trading cards are very cheap. Around 0.07 cent on the Market, and you can easy trade it for less, so easy to get.
- Time, there are different ways to get the badge and one of them is time. If you want to do it for free, it takes time. But I will explain this point later on this guide.
- Money, I know some people who want this badge FAST. The only fast way is to buy it tho. There is one other option, but I will tell that later on.
These are the advantages and disadvantages as far as I know. If I miss something, comment in the section down below. For the rest, enjoy this guide.
It will look something like this when you craft the csgo badge:

One card costs only around 0.06 cent, not much, right? So you need 5 trading cards for each level of the badge. One complete set of 5 cards costs: 0.06 x 5 = €0.30,-
Each level requires one set, so if you're on level 1, you need another set of 30 cent to get to level 2. If you are level 0 and want to become level 2, then you'll need to pay 60 cent total. Etc.
So the total cost from level 0 to the following levels are:
Level 1: €0.30,-
Level 2: 0.30 x 2 = €0.60,-
Level 3: 0.30 x 3 = €0.90,-
Level 4: 0.30 x 4 = €1.20,-
Level 5: 0.30 x 5 = € 1.50,- -> USD: 1.76 Dollar.
So to become level 5 with this badge from level 0 you need to pay a total of € 1.50,- -> USD: 1.76 Dollar.

Be patient, time is very important here.
I know some people who don't have patient, whether it is with trading, selling or whatever. So if you ain't patient, or if you are just too lazy, then you can better go to the previous way.


So what you basically need to do is:

• Buy the game.
  
• Play the game.
  
• Receive the random drops.
  
• Sell the items.
  
• Buy the trading cards.
  
• And craft.

It's as easy as that, but i'll ensure you, it will take quite a while if you wanna go to level 5 like this.
So if this ain't the way you like, try the next one! :)

Trading way 1
Trading is the most effective way to get the things you want, as a matter of fact there are people who trade every single skin you get in-Game for a trading cart. Most people for 2 skins tho (most of the time are the skins 0.03 cent that you get in-Game) Just because the trading carts of CSGO are so cheap they'll do it. You can use this way, you only have to do some research to find someone who does it.
Trading way 2
The other Trading way is easier and easier to find someone with. If you have games, like tf2, dota or whatever game with random drops, you can offer the items of these games too for trading cards.
Some people accept that too.

Here's an example of trading with Team Fortress 2 items. It's a more complicated way of getting the CS:GO badge, but it should get you there eventually.
- Play the game very much, otherwise it won't work.
- Receive the item drops that you get quite easily in casual.
- Craft those items to metal.
- Go to a tradings server and ask to buy any tradings card for 1 scrap (or 2 if you have enough, to make the trade more attractive)
- Trade as most as you can for the trading cards. Suppose you get 10 tf2 trading cards.
- Trade it with people who have CSGO tradings cards, or sell it for 0.09 cent on the market and you get 0.07 PER CARD. With the 0.07 x 10 = 0.7 cent you can buy total 10 CS:GO Trading cards. So you can level up the badge to level 2. I don't know if it's worth it though, but if you have played it for a while and still have some stuff of it, you can do this, otherwise I would try something else.

There are quite some groups and sites or youtube channels who do CSGO giveaways. And as usal most of them are almost impossible to win. Because so many people join those giveaways, even when there are only like 50-100 people, the chance that you will win is small. But that's all up to you. Anyway this is one way too for getting trading cards for your CSGO badge. If you win, you'll win big.

Most of the time it are CSGO Knife give aways. You have to get lucky, but if you win, you easy get your free trading cards to craft the CSGO badge.
And if you don't see the point of doing this and are too lazy to do any one of these ways to get it, then just go beg. Sometimes it works, most of time you get blocked (so I don't recommend it). But it's an option.

Asking for free
I've noticed some of my friends having some cards of certain badges that I wanted to craft. If you do too, for the CS:GO badge, you could look on the badges page and than the CS:GO badge. It'll show an overview of who of your friends have which card(s) of the badge.
You can only see this when already owning a CSGO card. Otherwise the progress of the badge won't show on the 'Badges' page.
This is what the overview looks like.

Since CS:GO cards are really cheap and most people already have them, you could ask them politely and see what happens. I don't think too many people/steam friends have any trouble with giving them away.

Some examples of what you could ask:

• Hey! I see you have a CSGO card left in your inventory, if you do not have any use for it, would it be cool if I may get it to level up my badge?
  
• Heyy! I want to level up my CSGO badge and I've noticed you have a card that I need. Would it be cool if I may receive that card if you don't have any use for it?

But one word of advice, don't ask for a bunch of cards or anything. To ask for one or maybe two cards may be fine, in my eyes this doesn't come over as someone who begs for free stuff so I'd be more quick to give it away than someone who'd ask for a bunch.

Offering something in return
If you want to be more certain your Steam friend will say yes, it is better to offer something in return. But it really depends on your relationship with the person, if it is someone you never talk to, I think I'd be more attractive for that person if you'd offer something in return. It could be anything; a coupon, an emoticon, a card or skin.

I don't guarantee this works, it really depends on the person I'd say. I've never really tried this, when I have I'll update this section with my results. If you tried this, I'd love to hear the results in the comments below!

So Idle Master is a program with which you don't have to play a game or have to do anything and Idle Master will fetch trading cards from the games you have in your library. Idle Master doesn't fetch any CS:GO cards, why?
Every game has a certain amount of card drops. It could very well be that all your card drops for CS:GO are already collected. To verify this, you can go to your badge progress on your steam profile and search for CS:GO. If there are no more card drops available, you should see this:


If there are still some card drops, than it should look like this:





How to get the CS:GO badge with this way?
Well you can sell the card drops you receive from the other games and buy the CS:GO cards. You could trade the card drops for CS:GO cards. Or just wait and eventually Idle Master will most likely be passing the CS:GO game, but the card drops will not be enough to get to level 5 from level 0, so keep that in mind.

Crafting the foil badge
Upon having a complete set of foil cards you can go to your own profile and then your badges. You can see it's a foil badge by the title of the badge.

If you really have a full set, than it will show a big 'Ready' button like here.

Upon pressing this button you come on the page of creating the badge and there you see a 'Craft Badge' button.

Upon pressing this button, it will craft the badge.

When it's done crafting, it'll look like the screenshot below.

Crafting the normal badge
Crafting the normal badge goes completely the same way, only now you need a complete set of normal cards that do not have the name 'Foil' in them.

Can you craft both badges?
Yes you can! Upon crafting both badges, you'll have them both separate. See the screenshot below.
One thing to keep in mind, I think it'll show the badge you crafted last, that will show on the game on your profile like the screenshot below. But I'm not too sure* I'd have to check that out on a different account.

The normal badge
The normal badge can be crafted up to level 5. Each level has a different icon as shown in the image. You can only level up with a badge, so once you're at level 5, you cannot go back to level 2 for example.

The foil badge
The foil badge can be crafted up to level 1 and has its own unique icon.

As you see there are numerous ways to get the CSGO badge. Pick one or multiple that fit your needs. I hope it helped in some way or that it was just an interesting read.
