Description:

The Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) is modeled after an artillery tank used by the US military. It has a payload of 16 single-use rockets. The range of this artillery unit is adjustable from 1000-2000 meters. I opted to replace the tank treads used on the real vehicle with wheels because....space engineers. There is also an optional piston levelling system.


The adjustable range is possible due to gyroscopes on the rockets. I set a pitch override on the gyros so that they would make the rockets arc like normal projectiles. By adjusting the pitch override value, you can control how far the rockets go.

HOW TO HIT SOMETHING:
I have included a range chart next to the driving controls that shows the pitch override value needed to hit a targets at a specified distances of 1000m 1250m 1500m 1750m and 2000m. So if you line up at one of these distances away from your target and set the correct override value, you should hit it.

To fire the rockets, you will first have to elevate the launcher. Then you must access the remote control for the launcher. Then you can fire the missiles in individual pairs by pressing 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.



THE ENTIRE LAUNCHER CAN BE ROTATED around if the vehicle is stationary, but you will need to release the rotor lock limits. By default I have locked the rotor "Rotor Turret Base" for the launcher at 0 degrees because the braking torque was not strong enough to keep it steady while the vehicle was turning.

You also should elevate the launcher first for it to turn freely.

Yeah sorry, the updates have broken my timer setup a bit and I don't have the motivation to go back and rebind everything

Can't get the missiles to leave the vehicle. I placed uranium inside them to ensure power after hitting the timer block and they just fall down not launching.
