Remnant

Description
An army of autonomous ships, opposed to life itself, awakens on the edge of the galaxy. Commanding firepower so extreme, that they struggle to keep the shells flying on target. Weathered by time, these machines are falling apart at the blueprint level without the guidance of the malevolent intelligence created them. If a new force could take control of these machines, their will would control vast armories of devastating power.

The Remnant are a faction for those who love big guns, and lots of them. There are no lasers, shields, or launchers employed by these guys. Don't worry however, they have a vast multitude of sizes and shapes of cannons for all kinds of people.

Overall:

Economy
*Require tractor block to pick up R. Recommended to unlock it first.
*Large R generator that consumes energy.
*Medium-High energy draw relative to amount of generators.

Weapons
*Rail-cannons are baseline cannons, but they have very good damage and range for their cost. This is countered by high inaccuracy making massed cannons required to be effective at long range.
*Mass-drivers are spinal mounted rail-cannons, with higher accuracy and splash damage. Cost effectiveness roughly of one a rail-cannon a tier higher.
*Gauss-cannons are PD and anti-fighter weapons. They typically have high energy consumption, but are also decent close range weapons when in mass.
*Ion-blasters are extremely powerful close range weapons that consume high amounts of energy and output waves of explosive ion charges.

Defense
*Okay movement, but don't expect to be dodging efficiently.
*Hull strength is as high as possible without the game forcing it to have a minimum cost.
*No shields, the enemy should be dodging YOUR bullets.
*Good PD capabilities... if you put numbers similar to the default ships.

I feel pretty dumb for not noticing that, tbh... I'll have to try messing with that, now

The melted butter part of the capital ships is more to do with my aesthetic design choices, with the excessive use of small rectangles and deliberatley leaving portions of the ship unifinished.
A good idea if you want capital ships that are particularly effective is to only use heavy weaponry, instead of the strange mix-max my ships tend to show.

They're a really fun faction to play (especially because I freakin' love a good cannon), but their capital ships are kinda... Melted butter against other capital ships...

No, however a good portion of the ships are above 1000p, so its rather easy to unlock.
