RAM Hog
This game has the unhealthy addiction of devouring your RAM and will attempt to consume the ever living crap out of it.

This happens when you change your loadout while in online (you'll get a substantial fps drop during this time) and it will attempt to reallocate the ram for the game from spare ram, this includes physical and virtual (committed) memory.

Keep an eye on your RAM when playing this game, especially if you play for hours or when you do not reboot your PC regularly.

The only way to fix this is to reboot as far as i know, however i have been using RAMMap to free my working set after playing the game for some time, however this does not fix my committed memory without rebooting.

Due to the memory leak this can lead to your PC chugging (slow) due to lack of memory (in extreme cases you can run out of virtual memory which can cause your pc to freeze), please be sure to reboot after playing this game for some time and also keep an eye on your RAM to avoid any issues.

If you have something to add please do so in a respectful way, i will delete any comments that are disrespectful.

either i am lucky or my ram is too big for this game to eat up!

Additional note for my previous message:
After enough missions cleared (in my case, 30 or so) the equipment menu will STILL slow down.
That's because every time you GO OUT on, and RETURN FROM a mission it will say "Start Mission" and "Return" in the chat log, which accumulates over time.
So you'll still need to back out and relaunch the game after 30+ missions in multiplayer, even if nobody says anything in the chat log.

The memory leak comes from the in-game text chat messages (both manual typing AND quick chat) not being unloaded and staying in memory until you exit the game.
The more text chat messages there are, the more the multiplayer equipment screen slows down.
Just never use in-game text chat OR quick chat and you should be good.

Can't believe they never fixed this

This might explain my system freezes; Win10 doesn't like my drive combinations for some reason and it doesn't play nice with vram so it trying to allocate more than 16 gigs could be doing that.

Thank you, you are on point. I am having issues with a massive framerate drop after playing for a while. It is already difficult enough to find people to play with.

This seems to be a Win 10 thing...

I get memory leaks when my friends spam the chat but a simple restart of the game fixes it

@Kana
Memory leaks are "something" and they can lead to some "disasters" on your game. More in mobile games, (I know this is not the case)

"Either way, there is 0 chance on a modern (let's say 2007 onward) OS that memory leak will cause any manner of system instability"

-Talking about THIS memory leak in EDF. Yes... You are right not a big deal.
- If you are generalising about every leak, ...thas plain stupid and makes you sound unprofessional, for a "Game developer"
