This mod is a work in progress.

Mod Summary:
This mod aims to put those useless dinos you have standing around your base doing nothing to good use providing power to various machines via rotary equipment.

This mod also overhauls Ark's Electrical system, by limiting the amount of 'Power' generators produce, and requiring each electrical machine to use a certain amount of power. This mod does not affect vanilla Electrical Generator/Machines.

Should be stackable

MOD ID:
720589867

Current Items/Features:
Wooden Dino Engine - LVL 10: Hitch by leading the dino to the side of the beam, orienting dino to walk counterclockwise around dino engine, then look at dino engine and press 'E'. Press on the engine 'E' to 'Walk' and 'Stop Walking' the dino. Automatically adds 'Work Load' as weight to dino based on machines/shafts in current rotary system. Dino gains 1XP per second when walking. Dino uses stamina and food when walking, and will become torpid when stamina runs out, so keep food nearby and force feed stimberries when needed. The effects to dino are subject to change and will be balanced in the future.

Wooden Drive Shaft - LVL 10:

Wooden Multi-Directional Gearbox - LVL 10: Allows direction change of shaft, left, right, up and down. Place on existing drive shafts.

Primitive Electric Generator - LVL 20: Produces electricity when placed on a Drive Shaft. Amount of power produced is based on rotation rate of input drive shaft. Faster dinos will produce more power. Snaps to Drive Shafts.

Stone Mill - LVL 15: Same directions as Dino Engine. Same effects to hitched/walking dino. Auto crafts whatever the mortar and pestle produces, and does not require learning the engrams. Crafting speed varies with rotation rate, so the faster the dino, the faster the crafting speed. Holds 36 stacks by default.

Modded Electrical Cables/Outlet/Lamps/IceBox/etc. - LVL Same as Vanilla: Crafted in Player Inventory until custom Fabricator is added to mod. Cannot be used with vanilla electricity grids. Used with Dino Powered Electrical generators. Each Electrical machine uses a certain amount of power.

Currently working on:
- Primitive Electric Generator custom model/textures
- Harness for hitching dinos to rotary equipment
- Visual references for 'Work Load' when hitched to dino engine based on number of machines in rotary system.
- Visual references for amount of 'Power' being produced by generator, and required power for electrical machines.
- Add visual representation to Stone Mill for items placed in inventory.
- More notes to come...

Planned Items:
- Rotary Powered Elevator
- Rotary Powered Swamp Cooler (Air Conditioner that doesn't use electricity)
- Rotary Powered Ice Box (Ice box with rotary powered compressor, doesn't use electricity)
- Rotary Powered Industrial Grinder (Multi purpose machine)
- Rotary Powered Well Drill (For water and oil wells)
- Rotary Powered Water Well (Pumps water out of the ground)
- Rotary Powered Oil Well (Pumps oil out of the ground)
- Rotary Powered Fabricator
- Rotary Powered Sawmill
- Various gear boxes to increase/decrease torque and speed, and to combine rotary systems
- Universal Joint and Shaft for custom angles, and combining multiple rotary systems.
- Springs for storing rotary power.
- Tiers of Electrical generators to produce more power (Power is limited in this mod)
- Tiers of Dino Engine/Shafts/Etc.
- Various other items I've yet to list..

The open source links do not lead to the source files.. :(

Cool mod. Certainly takes care of the "dino too weak to ride outside the base, but looks too dumb standing there and doing nothing useful" problem. Now they'll finally have something to do other that stand/wander around being useless!

I noticed my trike stopping once each time around. It would pause but it didn't pass out and it was left on for a couple hours. Very impressed so far and I love how they gain XP while walking.

A bit late, but I've been using this mod for a while and have left one of my parasaurs manning the grindstone for hours and have not observed any ill effects/torpor/passing out or anything. It's a pretty neat alternative to the mortar as there is no engrams required. It seems to produce anything the mortar can at a steady rate as long as the materials are in the inventory. Unfortunately the grindstone seems to be the only functional part of the mod. The dino engine is able to be placed but does not snap to any of the power components.

oooh what an interesting and immersive concept! i'm a bit concerned about the gaining torpidity when out of stamina thing. maybe a setting so that they will either stop and regain stamina when needed on their own, or continue moving until they pass out?

Just found this and I'm about to use it so I'll let you know what I think. Ice box needs to be run by compys. qq if it doesn't

Has this mod been left for dead or is it still being improved? Cause i could see some great things come of this if made right.

I think the mod is no longer. Man can put anything but the power generator

If I may request that you make the water and oil wells first out of the list of things to make?
