Description
Mind of War is a mod with the goal to improve the campain ai in order to increase the challenge the game can provide. Please note that this mod does not touch the battle ai.



What does this mod change?

- The AI will play this game now as a game of war and not as sim city, meaning:
-- The AI is more aggressive
-- The AI will put more ressources into military infrastructure
-- The decision on who to declare war will now be governed by diplomatic relations and military strength instead of being semi-random
-- The AI will restrain from battles that it cant win (less suicide attacks)

- The auto-resolve will now distribute the losses more random, so that the chance of loosing actual units is increased. This will prevent steamrolling over the map with the same stack for 20 turns.

- The defensive zone (red circle) around cities has been increased. Strategic conquering and improving of cities can now assure safe homelands or at least solidify borders.

- The defensive zone (red circle) around ships has been increased to make taking control of space on the sea more viable (e.g. guarding trade posts/ports)

- The AI will now build better unit compositions (full credit to Darthmod since i use his work in this matter)

- Removed honorloss because of looting to enable scorched earth strategies

- Small adjustment to few units/buildings:
-- Yari-Ashigaru now have less bonus attack vs cavalry and their armor reduced by 1
-- Increased the actual unit amount of the light cavalry up to the same amount regular cavalry has
-- Rebalanced smith in FotS in favor of armor instead of precision
-- Reduced precision and reload-rate on line infantry (FotS)
These units changes were made, to give cavalry more importance in standard campaign and to make late game infantry a more viable/necessary choice in FotS

This mod is compatible with Sengoku Jidai and Fall of the Samurai. It should be compatible with Rise of the Samurai as well (untested, so no guarantee).

My only issue with this is the defensive Zone... overlapping zone makes your army stuck making them unable to leave or attack the castle or enemy even if its right in front of them. As a result both your army and the enemies cant leave.. i have to load the auto save.

You should start a new save. The AI stuff should work on an existing one, but with the stat adjustments i am not sure how they work with an old save. If in doubt, try it.

A feedback on normal dificulty ,I convinced Anegakojy - Mighty and Date- Strong power to declare war on my enemies Hojo and Satomi . As Uesugi-Strong I reenabled my vassal Yamanouchi with their region . After 2-3 turns, both Date-my ally and Anegakojy declared war on my vassal. So I don't think they see the link between Uesugi and Yamanouchi .

if this mod makes all the AI have aggressive personality, does that mean its not compatible with random ai personalities mod?

This mod actually works, AI wont attack you even if they are small. but needs some tweaks though
