Onitama (updated)

Description
Onitama is a two-player, perfect information abstract game with a random starting set-up. On a 5x5 board, both players start with five pawns on their side, with the main pawn in the middle.

Each player has two open cards that each display a possible move for any of his pieces. There is a fifth card that cannot be used by either player. On a player's turn, he chooses one of his cards, moves one of his pieces according to the chosen card, then replaces the card he used with the fifth card. The other player then chooses one of his cards, moves accordingly, and exchanges that card with this fifth card — which is, of course, the card the first player just used.

Moving onto one of the opponent's pawns removes that pawn from the game. Taking the opponent's main pawn, or moving your main pawn into your opponent's main pawn's starting space, wins you the game.

This is 100% the best version of this game available ngl. Sure, the card descriptions are in Spanish, but those don't really matter to the game itself. They're just there for flavor. All the assets are in really nice quality as well. Just make the cards English, and your good.

Cards are all in Spanish.

Cards are definitely in Spanish... but no matter -- all that's on there is flavor text. :)

For some reason my cards are showing up on Spanish. Is there a way to spawn english cards? Thanks!

Just want to give a shout out to the author! Thanks for making this.

I think you could improve the mod's playability by turning off the grid snapping on the cards, adding rotating snap points for them, putting little dots or lines to show where the cards should be placed, and disabling hands by default. Little things, but would go a long way to make the game more comfortable to play.

Also the tiger card isn't in the pack by default. And having a bag labeled "Rules" or "Rules tablet" with the tablet in it saves from having that popup asking about the URL everytime you load up a game

@Sarblade It's not a re-desing, its a re-theme of the japanese version (the original Onitama).

This circle style table sucks for this game. the cards keep locking into them when moving them around

Hey, this isn't the original Onitama but a re-design made by a BoardGameGeek user!
