Introduction
There are all kinds of console commands, but there's a simple way to get XP and gold in the game without cheating, just using a small exploit.

As you might know some NPCs in the game can't be killed (I guess the ones that have names), and when you make them fall to the ground they just lie there until they eventually get back up again. You can usually loot whatever they have in their inventory without them caring.

What if I told you there's a place where you can exploit this neat feature...?

10 Plants
BUT to do such you need to have collected at least 10 Brugleweed (they're called Weed on the ground)! You might have noticed the plants growing mostly in damp places.

Some Weed grow in the area around the hut and you can buy a couple off the man in the water behind the building.

Then there's this wonderful guy named Rhobart. He is willing to give you gold for every 10 Brugleweed plants you get him. I have 64 plants so I can talk to him exactly six times.

Experience and Gold
Completing any task in the game yields experience points. By giving Rhobart 10 Weed you get 70 Gold and 50 XP. Give him as many as you can, naturally.

Give me my Weed back!
Well, now that he has all your plants, guess what to do next? Sara doesn't care about what happens around her so go ahead and fight Rhobart!

Once you've beaten him, loot his unconscious body and take back what's yours. After a short while he will stand back up, talk to him again and repeat the whole process! Easy, right?

This will take a while as you're "farming" him, but the experience and gold is useful when you're a low level hero with empty pockets. Just be sure you're able to beat Rhobart. It might be a hassle to deal with him when you're a newbie.
Addendum
Thanks to my brother for telling me about this little exploit! Surely not the first one to come up with this, but the first one to tell me about this, which I decided to share with the community! Have fun!

Note that this is fixed in the unofficial patch! I did not play with the patch and had no idea, but I was told about this. Those who also don't play with the unofficial patch can still use the exploit.

All you do is hold down attack again after they fall.... you do an impale and they are dead. This should not be done of course unless they don't have a specific name.... instead it's something like... Rogue... Hunter... Fighter... Of course, not sure how that might actually affect gameplay if you did go on a killing spree.

Yeah, don't know about the patch myself, vanilla didn't have any issues for me as I recall. But thanks for the info about knocked out and invincible peeps! :risenheroinquisitor:

I've also never heard of any "unofficial patch", however if it doesn't add content to my game and/or isn't from the developers themselves (which is why it's subtitled "unofficial" I'll assume), I wouldn't like to deviate from the vanilla as much. Barely has any issues.

Kitten, anyone you can knock out can be killed. Anyone who doesn't have a chip off their health after a swing at them, spoilers

they're invincible lol

Ah, that's a shame. I'll be sure to mention that in the guide!

Well I just got there and I can confirm that it's fixed. When I defeated the guy he only had 1 weed. :(
