Description
This item was updated on Sep. 23 2016 and is currently functional once again.

Modular Ship Assembler
The Modular Ship Assembler is a creation in vanilla Space Engineers which allows you to assemble, in projector form, your own customizable small ship using pre-made components. Press different buttons which will switch between the different components of the ship, giving you a preview of what your ship will look like. Then when you are finished choosing, at the press of a button the ship is constructed right in front of you!
Currently, there are only ion thrusters. Hydrogen and atmospheric not available.

In total there are 12 different wings, 8 noses, and 8 tails. All of these (including left and right wings individually) can be combined in any arrangement to produce your very own customized ship. Some of the components are rather lackluster in functionality, while others provide unique capabilities that may or may not go well with other components.

In total, if wings are only considered in sets, as in if both wings are identical, there are 768 possible combinations.

If each wing can be combined with every other wing, there are 9,216 possible ships to be made.

Please try out the Modular Ship Assembler for yourself, and thank you for trying Engi Innovation!

Engi Innovation is a branch of Engi Aerospace that focuses on innovative and unique engineering concepts. Whereas typical engineering companies focus solely on regular ships and stations, Engi Innovation aims to break away from standard creations and introduce new ideas.

Engi Innovation does not use modifications.

Instructions

1. Select the leftmost button at the red terminal
to turn on the base

2. Using the blue, orange, yellow, and green
button systems, select the components that
you would like your ship to have.

3. Press the rightmost button on the red terminal
to assemble the ship. If you accidently push
this button, press the EMERGENCY STOP button
next to it.

4. After assembly, detach the DISPOSABLE merge block.

5. Fly away! Or, ctrl+b and save it for later!

Notes
Occasionally, after spawning it in, some LCDs may be dark. Turning the offending LCDs off and then back on will eliminate the problem.

Like a module with BaR mod for repairs, and another module for shields mod.

This needs a modern remake.

Everything works perfectly now... I have zero issues with this blueprint .. the downside is that not many took this in consideration and i don't see any atmo modules for this so i could swap between atmo and space ships by simply moving the projectors in and out.

Ha sorry, must've missed these comments. Yeah I do have all the blueprints, but frankly they may not be efficient in atmposphere, can't see why they'd be preferable over other stuff on the workshop. After all, you can just generate any ship you want and then throw thrusters on it and save it as your own ship.

where are you, are you dead?

it's alright, wasn't me but a friend of mine :D also do you have the blueprints yourself and is there anyway you're willing to put them up on the workshop? it would mean community members could temporaily make atmosphere capable ships from your designs by hacking atmo thusters on them.

Thanks for letting me know. Updates screwing with the projectors as always.

found a bug. al tail modules are slightly squint. (if looking down from the top you'll see it's in the ship 1 block and to the right 1 block.) thought you might want to know :)

I am very impressed to hear that this still works!

It's relatively fine now. in fact, I would be quite excited if there was a atmospheric version coming out. :P
