In 1 collection by Heraldo Xavier
Mari0 mappack (Work in progress)
6 items
Description
A remake of the test chamber 02 from the mappack "Portal" on the game Mari0, made by Stabyourself.net.

Update: edited the room, now with a look of 2d plataform and edited some side walls to be non-portable, since they wasn't necessary to complete the test.

Please, comment about what you think of the map and what need to be fixed or changed for a better look

I didn't realize that you could use "light-bridge hopping", and so when I figured it out, I was impressed with that mechanic. It was simple, but fun.

Got trapped on the lightbridge the first time, but it's not so long a puzzle that restarting was a headache. I rather enjoyed it.

This just didn't feel too fun. Light bridge hopping worked better in Mari0 when you had a decent jump height.

Fun, but lightbridge hopping felt like the wrong way to do it, not sure if did right, I am.

I think it's possible to get stuck on the lightbridge in the first part of the chamber. If you get on top of the lightbridge spawn, and shoot a second portal on the same wall the lightbridge spawn resides on, there is no way down.

Again, straight forward and easy, but I liked it. Though I'm not a fan of lightbridge hopping, but here it fits =)

Yeah mate, i was making the the chamber 03 and i discovered that 3d space on 2d map it doesn't work. I edited again all chambers, now on "2d version". The foreground walls non-portable as far i know is not possible to recreate and the back walls you mean the background? If is don't worry, i'm making some parts non-portables too.

Just a heads up, to really recreate the feeling of the Mari0 version, you have to make the back walls, and the foreground walls non-portable. Considering Mari0 was 2D, recreating the puzzles in a 3D space doesn't work if almost every surface is portable.
