We Stand Alone - 2-4 Player Co-op

Description
Rulebook here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fn4apkurf9welbb/We%20Stand%20Alone%20Rulebook%20v1.0.pdf?dl=0

A co-operative 2-4 player dice and card-based game in which intrepid and possibly doomed heroes try and stave off waves of enemies from destroying their precious town. The game has a strong emphasis on challenging players to work out the best possible outcome from limited resources, and on providing multiple options to achieve the same or similar outcome. Despite being dice-based, luck is minimal and up-front - essentially player's options are somewhat randomised, but then they have total control over how they execute them.

Despite having a very quick setup/break down time and a play-time (once familiar with the rules) of about thirty minutes per player, this game has a huge amount of tactical decision-making and provides a great co-op experience of strategising and synergising with the unique strengths (and weaknesses) that each character possesses. The game is likely to appeal to people who enjoy the kind of puzzle-solving/decision making/resource optimising that comes from games like the Lord of the Rings LCG or Mage Knight. Although dice are the central mechanic, luck is fairly minimal as the dice are used similarly to in Castles of Burgundy - i.e. the dice determine what options are available to you, but there are always multiple options available.

The game also gives players the satisfaction of building and customising a character with powerful items and skills that can be purchased over the course of the game, often dramatically altering the playstyle of a character from one game to the next.

This game was so fun and everytime I come back to it my memory of what the rulebook actually said since it was deleted a while ago. I hope the author of it comes back and continues it one day. <3
