Mice and Mystics (clean setup)

Description
Original version by RiceKun:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=312521967

The rules for the game can be found here (official homepage):
http://www.plaidhatgames.com/images/games/mice-and-mystics/mmrulebook.pdf

The instructions to play the first scenario can be found here (official homepage):
http://www.plaidhatgames.com/images/games/mice-and-mystics/mmstorybook.pdf

The second to eleventh scenario can only be found inside the physical game. At least one player needs to own the physical game to properly play those scenarios.

This version reorganizes all the components, so that it's a lot easier to get a game started:

- Almost all components have been properly labeled, so they can easily be identified by mousing over them. The only components that aren't labeled are the room tiles, the story control board and the action dice.

- Almost all components have been unlocked, so they can be moved around without any hassle. The only components that remain locked are the mouse hero cards, the room tiles for the first scenario, the story control board, the player reference card, the rules reference card and all container bags.

- The player seats have been rearranged, with the six player seats along the long ends of the table. This allows all the various components to be moved to the short ends of the table.

- The mouse hero cards, starting equipment cards, search tokens, mouse initiative cards and mouse figures are located at the six player seats. This allows players to take a seat in front of their favorite mouse hero card and have all the required items in front of them already, except for their starting ability.

- The ability cards have been sorted and placed at the four corners of the table:
The Tinkerer, Warrior and Leader ability cards are located in the corner next to Nez and Collin.
The Healer ability cards, First Aid and Thundersqueak are located in the corner next to Tilda.
The Mystic ability cards and Meeps are located in the corner next to Maginos.
The Scamp and Archer cards and Keen Eye are located in the corner next to Filch and Lily.

- The mouse hero cards have been reduced in size, so that they fit on the screen when mousing over them and pressing alt. The search tokens have been slightly reduced in size as well.

- The room tiles inside the room tiles container bag have been increased in size to match the room tiles for the first scenario. Brodie's figure has also been increased in size to match the other large monster figures.

- The Ring of Rememberance search card, the Sorrow Blade search card and the Difficult Encounter cards have been removed from their decks and placed off to the side. These aren't used during the first scenario.

- Almost all components are now placed at the short ends of the table. The only components that remain in the play area are the room tiles for the first scenario, the story control board and the components placed on the story control board.

- There are more cheese tokens, wound tokens and action dice, with the action dice also stored inside a container bag. There are two container bags for each of these components, placed at opposite sides of the table. The cheese tokens container bags are yellow, the action dice container bags are white, the wound tokens container bags are red and the room tiles container bag is teal.

@kbulgrien
If you right click the tiles and click "LOCK", so it doesn't have a tick (sometimes this is bugged and shows not locked when it is), you should be able to move them and flip them.

So there are 6 tiles? can you tell me if thats correct (p.s remember you can copy and paste it)

I didn't think that I uploaded these files myself. I'll look into it over the next few days. Thanks for reporting.

Unless I just don't know what I'm doing, this only has the top side of three initial story game boards and they don't seem to flip as is required to play, so I'm not sure how one would actually play this. Additional map boards and ability to flip them are required to play all the senarios.

All assets failed to load for me (i.e. froze w/ 0 of 91 loaded) with no error messages appearing in the console to indicate why. What seems to work around this is to turn off "Mod caching" and "Mod threading".

To make these changes, from the Main Menu, the click Configuration (gear), then on the Configuration window, select the Game tab, and uncheck the corresponding check boxes.

After this, loading the game mostly worked, but usually one or a few assets still would not load, but when prompted for them, it was possible to just press the import button (without changing anything) and they would load.

After getting it to work once, I tried to narrow down whether one or both were needed. I found that "Mod Threading" was the problem and that I could turn "Mod Caching" back on.

YMMV, and I am on Linux.

Ok

@Vossi: You can just manually place the tiles to do so. The scenario book describes how to place the tiles.

Does somebody know how to set up the other scenarios? I'm not a modder or programmer so I have no idea how any of this works. Would love to see you finish the whole game.

i was unaware of the L button for unlocking them, am dum lol. thank you though XD
Thels  [author] 13 May, 2022 @ 6:44am
Aren't you able to simply unlock them by holding your mouse over them and pressing the L key?

table flipping the board then snatching the locked board tiles, saving them to then be flipped and placed is a nice loophole for those first three locked tiles.
