The sorting center is the heart of my recycling center. It has large sides near the edges that other buildings can connect to. It also includes an office building and nice decorations.

@Avanya, understood, thank you for the response

@one-liner: I use the mod myself, but it's completely fair if you don't want to use it. These buildings were created WAY before Green Cities and any official recycling mechanic was added, and they were originally balanced against similar buildings on the workshop. I'm very unlikely to rebalance them once again as the time I have for modding is very limited and I'd honestly rather create new assets with that time. If the stats for these are not to your liking, I would recommend searching for other recycling centers to use instead.

@Avanya that mod is no longer maintained (since a long time) and it has some reported issues, I would rather not complicate my existence and saves with a mod that could break the game on next update... I've been through this twice with NEXT2

I am not sure how you came up with current stats but currently, this building is 60% LESS efficient than vanilla recycling center in terms of processing rate, based on price. Does that sound good? Having to deal with a huge amount of garbage truck traffic concentrated to/from a single building is already a challenge, the efficiency is a further and a bigger letdown.

This game is already problematic with horrible scaling and hard limits + performance limitations. Without several mods, I would have abandoned it a long, long time ago.

@one-liner: They're balanced around all the vanilla facilities and sit somewhere between the recycling center and the waste processing complex. But if you don't like the stats they come with, you can use a mod like Customize It Extended to tweak them to the stats you prefer.

While there is no question that these recycling assets look great, I am quite disappointed with all their stats. They are significantly worse than the regular Recycling Center when accounting (and scaling) for upkeep cost in relation to capacity and processing rate. Pretty? Yes. Practical? Absolutely not.

Really like how you've created essentially fully-realized 'expansions' for every utility, incetivizing players to actually create permanent, sprawling facilities with the capacity to provide for a whole city rather than spamming buildings on the outskirts then moving when your city expands.

@Avanya: what I like is several garbage facilities near the city to collect the garbage from the buildings and transport it to one central facility.

@Avanya: thank you very much for taking the time for answering :steamhappy:

@MisterHamstring: Sure thing! The ones in the Waste Processing Facility require Sunset Harbor and use the WPF template. That means they pick up garbage from landfills, Waste Transfer Facilities or my recycling drop-off. The original set which doesn't require Sunset Harbor function like the Recycling Center from Green Cities, they pick up garbage directly from homes and process it.

So whichever version you prefer is really up to how you want your garbage collected. If it makes sense for recycling centers in your city to pick up garbage directly from the citizens, then you will want the original. If you want them to sort garbage collected from other garbage facilities, then you want the Sunset Harbor version. Or you can use both versions together, but it might be a bit messy keeping track of which is which - I didn't really make them different. :P
