More Norse Names

Description
Tired of seeing the same old names? Look no further. Enjoy a larger variety of names for your raiding and pillaging pleasure.

Credit to babynames.net for the first batch of names. I will continue to add more names in the future.
Feel free to make suggestions and improvements. I don't mind anyone using the names for their mods either.

I typically use https://www.behindthename.com/ when looking for names.

Also, I'm pretty sure <Þ> exists within the Windows-1252 character set used by CK2's files, so why is it necessary to use <Ţ>?

Yeah. I admit I was lazy with this. I slapped together some names and called it a day. I don't think I'll update it anytime soon. Feel free to use my resources and make your own

Ok, first of all - congrats for taking the effort. It's cool to create a bridge between characters of Old Norse culture with it's younger language family member.

Now, up to the quality!
Sorry I have to say it, but this was a lazy method of filling the names in. Many of the added ones are in their modern form, rather taken from Swedish, Norwegian, etc.
But for Old Norse, many of them would sound very different:
- Torvald for example, this "T" derives from Old Norse "Þ" (Th), written with "Ţ" in game files, also in ON it would end with "r", so your final version should be "Ţorvaldr"

Like I said, I appreciate the effort, but I think it could have been much, much better.

Babynames.net isn't the best possible source, and I know there aren't many, but you could check on how Icelandic names sound, as they are the closest to Old Norse as possible, also you should have verified this with both Wikipedia and Wiktionary, as they often contain info about ethymology.

When you don't specifically say that it is HIP compatible, the best part of your user base just scrolls right by.

That is the first question that should be answered, HIP compatibility.

I noticed we are lacking the name of Ragnarr Loðbrók's first wife "Lagertha" (as per the Viking series) or in Old Norse:
"Hlaðgerðr" who some historians theorize was really "Þorgerðr". Both names are lacking.

@lafondj18 Well, that's odd. It doesn't show in the mod list when you start?
