## Manual ##

Thank you for the interest in Penz Industry's Simon Mk3. The Simon Mk3 is a small atmospheric mining craft that has been through more than 100 hours of service in a survival dedicated server. Aside from it's generic mining capacity detailed in the feature list, the Simon Mk3 is also extremely easy to operate with "state machine" controlled systems.

The "state machine" controlled system allows the pilot to operate the craft without the worry and fatique of flipping throught almost 20 systems available in the ship for each usage scenario. This is achieved by standardizing use-cases of the Simon Mk3 into 3 generic "states" and start/stop docker protocol.

The Simon Mk3 operates under 3 states and 1 protocol with light indicators on top signalling it's current state:

1: Cruise Mode [Green] - Use for generic cruising in and out of base/mining site the drills are powered off and ejectors are stopped so that ejected debris wont cause damage during high speed maneuver. Activating this mode also disengage the landing gear's lock.

2: Mining Mode [Yellow] - Use mining operation, the drills are operating in this mode, it is advised to activate this mode after the pilot settled the drill onto the mineral surface. The ejectors are turned on in this mode to get rid of unwanted residue and save space. Activating this mode also disengage the landing gear's lock.

3: Offline Mode [Red] - Use for power saving and prevent thruster burn while parking in place. This mode is only accessible from an external button on the port side of the cockpit to ensure safety. The landing gears also repeatedly engage to any surface the can lock onto.

4: Docker Protocol on/off - This does not have light signal. The docker protocol locks the connector as soon as a matching connector comes within range automatically and activates the conveyor to dump the Simon's cargo through the connector without the need of manual operation.

Control Schematic:

With the state controlled system, the Simon Mk3 only needs 2 tabs to operate all of it's control without the need to access the ship's system from the menu. It is highly advised that the pilot takes sometime familiarizing with all button placement before operating the ship at it's full capacity.

Tab 1: [General Operation Control] Access to Cruise and Mining Modes, Engage and Disengage Docker Protocol, General Lighting, Landing Gears Override, Connectors Override.

Tab 2: [Refueling and Projector Control] The first command activiates/deactivates the refuleing sorter whic conveys Urenium Ingots into the ship through the stern connector. The rest of the commands covers general use cases for the projector.

Precautions during flight:

1. Do not descend at high speed while carrying heavy load.
2. Do not roll the ship in low altitude, safe operating ankle is 20 degrees at maximum load.
3. Bank the ship to help with decelleration while carrying heavy load.
4. Do not ram the ship agains the mining surface repeatedly to prevent breaking the drills.
5. Be extra careful while turning in the tight space as the ship rarely has problem with that the pilot might encounter edge cases that an object might still be in the way while the ship turns and causes damage.
6. It is advised to undock the ship instantly if the ship is shaking while docking to prevent connectors tearing the ship apart in a dedicated survival server.

## Thank you very much again for choosing Penz Industry's Simon Mk3, your feedback is of the utmost important value ##

I have come back to play the game and would like to reassure everyone that this still works on vanilla survival multiplayer server perfectly. The test of time does measure up to this ship.

@norseman I haven't been playing for quite a long while. Though back when I designed Simon, you could just turn on the repair projector I setup to project the ship's blueprint on itself and commence the repair.

If parts of the ship are broken and you have to rebuild them, how do you reconnect them to your settings so everything works like when it was pristine?

@Bobisback You can post anything, this whole place is for sharing after all :)

Do I have your permission to post my designs on steam? I do kinda steal the control system ideas hahaha.

Ya I was thinking that to, I did use inspiration from your design(s) (not just the miner0 to make my space mining version (love the state system totally doing that for every ship now!) but there was some other stuff that my version needed to accomplish. So I am making a completely modular ship system. Thanks for your designs they have helped me a ton!

@Bobisback I have a low-G version of a similar design made. However have not published, it has exact same features except for the drill count which is down to 6 and drive system is replaced with ion. For an open-space asteriod mining you'd need diffrent kind of design, I believe, there are many other constrainst in place that make it very different from mining in gravitated atmosphere.

Do you make a space version of this?

Hi, Thank you so much for giving it a ride and also the stacking tip :)

If you add a merg block and land them on top one another you can stack them... I have four of them stacked and use it on Mars under ground make a colony. There is another thing too, you have to add 2 more down at, thrusters and 2 up at, thrusters. But you made these so well they work great!.
