Also, I think the Terraria community is larger.
I absolutely love Terraria for the action, for lots of different crafting tables, forvariety and misc stuff.
I am also fond of Starbounds absolutely stunning views, lighting, effects, planets, events, variety in game colonies, races, generated structures, misc items, weapons and their abilities, and how different each planet is from one another. Besides, each planet is about as big as a medium-large Terraria world. This adds up with lots of variety underground.
I have 351 hours in Starbound and 619 hours in Terraria.
I just wish they added a PvP arena, more quests and more combat (bosses, preferably hard with a good reward in pixels and weapons). If thats there I am all but satisfied. In fact, combat is already very good, a dungeon isn't just easy to complete. They also recently added underground Challange Portals which bring you into a different dimension and make you go through mostly hard puzzels that reward you with normally average to good reward. Maybe even events such as invasions or times when you must defend your colonies on a (/different) planet(/s).
