true. Might get this game some day, but not sure. I wanna see it progress more, first.

And no, the price is not high at all. Whats high is Black Mesa or DayZ. Not THAT is very fucking high.

But other than that, the style is kinda different compared to Terraria, yet it still feels kinda the same.

@KiöperwajMeniek, the tile lights were way worse before, they actually improved it. But I believe they will still improve it more once game hits more stable version.

Not the backgrounds, though. I'm talking mostly about the tiles.

The thing is that terraria's development is pretty much over by now (they will make full on sequel, I think), and it seems like Starbound is receiving a frequent amount of updates to the game. Not just that, but the community seems to be very alive. Another thing is, I did have the impression that exploration is bigger in Starbound, but the thing is, other than the lighting, I kind of dislike the graphics. I heard that the same graphics designer did both the graphics for Terraria and Starbound, but even though they clearly have the same style, Starbound just falls a bit off of my taste, somehow. Maybe it's just the amount of screenshots and media I've seen. Also, for a game that seems to be so incomplete, isn't the price just a bit..... too much?
Also, I think the Terraria community is larger.

" Maybe even events such as invasions or times when you must defend your colonies on a (/different) planet(/s). " - here I meant to say that I'd love to see something like that

@KiöperwajMeniek, both are good in their own way. Terraria mostly in action, Starbound mostly in exploring.
I absolutely love Terraria for the action, for lots of different crafting tables, forvariety and misc stuff.
I am also fond of Starbounds absolutely stunning views, lighting, effects, planets, events, variety in game colonies, races, generated structures, misc items, weapons and their abilities, and how different each planet is from one another. Besides, each planet is about as big as a medium-large Terraria world. This adds up with lots of variety underground.
I have 351 hours in Starbound and 619 hours in Terraria.

At the moment however, you don't get too much of a reward in Starbound (except for rare chances of finding exceptionally good weapons or items and very rare tech). Recently I found a flamethrower and a Giant Worm (its a weapon), both are exceptionally rare. And amazing.
I just wish they added a PvP arena, more quests and more combat (bosses, preferably hard with a good reward in pixels and weapons). If thats there I am all but satisfied. In fact, combat is already very good, a dungeon isn't just easy to complete. They also recently added underground Challange Portals which bring you into a different dimension and make you go through mostly hard puzzels that reward you with normally average to good reward. Maybe even events such as invasions or times when you must defend your colonies on a (/different) planet(/s).
