The Alliance of Independent Systems was formed from a number of independent systems with the goal of gaining strength in numbers and defending, where necessary, against the other major players in galactic space. Though primarily peaceful traders, and limited in their capability to build military assets, they are opportunistic and will fiercly defend their interests and citizenry.
