Classic Menu Sounds

Description
FOR THE TIME BEING ALL SOUND MODS REQUIRES YOU TO WRITE "snd_restart" INTO THE CONSOLE OR ELSE THEY WILL BE SILENT. THIS WASNT THE CASE BEFORE AND I HOPE THAT THE DEVELOPERS WILL FIX THIS.

These sounds will replace the sound effects in the game menu such as pressing and rolling mouse over buttons.

The sounds are taken from the original 1998 WON version of Half-Life.

is someone working on this update?

so what you need to do maybe if this is vpk, for some reason it doesn't read those files?, so what you do is go to the steamapp folder where black mesa is then go to bms while inside bms add custom folder call it that, go to gameinfo/gameinfo.text sometimes it's named different for people, inside the gameinfo file fined game+mod then add a new called game+mod/custom/* then go to steamapps then workshop and content then it should be the bottom number then find the mode file they will be dumber and inside the folder you can find the name drag the mod/sound vpk inside custom then it should work

So now the Black Mesa workshop publishing tool crashes every time I try to update the Workshop file. I have no idea why

I just tried it myself and for me it works as it should after snd_restart. I'm unsure as why it would not work but the Black Mesa workshop has been real wonky ever since the Crossfire update. Everything used to just work before that. I'm gonna try to just update the workshop file and see if it makes any difference. Else you could try to manually move the correct .vpk to /Black Mesa/bms/custom/ folder (create it if it doesn't exist).
The .vpk for this mod can be found in /SteamApps/workshop/content/362890/612424028/

actually after snd_restart it is just
"Failed to load sound "ui\buttonrollover.wav", file probably missing from disk/repository"

If you had read the description you would have known that for the time being all sound mods rqeuire you to write "snd_restart" into the console to work. This is something I can't do anything about - the devs need to fix it.
The error message you recieved is the same as the one I recieve unless I write snd_restart.

Sounds don't play, but says:
"Cannot figure out which search path sound\ui\buttonrollover.wav came from. Absolute path is C:\Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/362890/570887585/403433703415380172_legacy.bin/sound/ui/buttonrollover.wav
Failed to load sound "ui\buttonrollover.wav", file probably missing from disk/repository"

You can try of course.
Insurgency (another Source engine game with Workshop) used to have the same problem and when I tried the autoexec solution there it didn't work. The developers fixed the problem though and now sound mods work automatically.
