[ VFX ] Classic Explosion Remake

You need to setup a Custom folder in your game folder, before using this add-on, please follow THIS guide about how to set it up.

You need to do this because of certain file restrictions, this add-on will NOT work if you JUST subscribe to it here on the workshop!


Subscribe to the add-on, start up the game once to let the VPK download, then CUT it from: "\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\362890\609679571\BMClassicExplosion.vpk") and PASTE it in your Custom folder.

After all the above manipulations just restart your steam client, and you're good to go.

IF YOU WON'T DO THIS CORRECTLY YOUR EXPLOSION SOUNDS WILL BE MISSING AND EXPLOSION EFFECT WON'T BE CHANGED.


Ever felt like Black Mesa explosion lacking something and you want a change? Then this fancy Half-Life 1 explosion recreation in a particle form is for you! Featuring exact same zerogexplode sprite Valve used in 1998, but in 4k resolution ( in total ) with an addition of volumetric smoke and dynamic spark effects! Classic explosion sounds are also included!




Explosion effect is rendering underwater. There's nothing i can do about it, BM devs coded it like that
Sometimes explosion might clip the surfaces, just like it did in Half-Life 1, so i am not sure if it's a bug or a feature.
