Description
Welcome to the mod which is the genetically modified plants.
This is a direct copy of the Signal Lost faction which has been modified for less lag. (same for the SG version)
The Genetically modified plants are not replacing the spikey plants but rather making something similar to them, something which would be a little bit more fun.


The GMP started off as a mutated spikey plant seed which wondered away from the colony, as it drifted alone in space the seed slowly made its way onto an asteroid, the seed grew and attacked the other plants for their nutrients, reproducing as it did so, until there was only the mutated spikey plant gene left.

While the seed still carried a lot of its former self it still changed its fair share.
The gene lost the knowledge of spines but put a lot more power into its beam, while doing so the gene also learnt the ability to re-produce much weaker versions of its self.
The weaker versions are quick to reproduce and cheap to the point of being free to produce, however they have a temporary lifespan and can't cause much pain to the normal ship.

Life carried out for these normal plants, slowly expanding by spreading seeds and fighting off any small scouter ships who just so happened to cross their path, the dna found this sufficient until an encounter with their origins, the spikey plants.
After short battle the spikey plants crushed the GMP with their melee spines and heavily armored pods.
It was shortly after that the GMP evolved and tried new things, as a result they created heavily armored pods layered with very thick mulch and uncountable backup brain cells in three different sizes.
All three sized were given the capability to quickly reproduce and defend against large scale attacks.
Ontop of that the plants also evolved miniture pods, they were unable to reproduce and lacked backup brain cells but were reproduced more easily, they're commonly found on the largest scale pods and on Elite plants.

Like that the plants evolved into a major threat for even the largest of ships, any fleet who just so happens to find a Scale 3 pod is going to have a bad day.

Notes
This faction is very fun to fight with and don't slowly wither away like other factions.
The lasers are a different colour on purpose, they look good.
The larger sized pods are harder to find due to asteroids and their P cost.
This faction is unplayable
Don't use SG and this at the same time.

You can use the seeds/cores as generators
