Levitator Mod is a robust mod development framework focused on balancing gameplay and improving the metagame.

FEATURE SUMARY

- Prevents players from exploting Medical Rooms as a means of teleportation
- Fixes the game bug which allows users to spawn infinite resources by welding projections of blueprints which contain inventory
- Removes the camera view overlay that makes it difficult to see through remote cameras
- By popular demand, the respawn policy can now be disabled and enabled by typing "/rmmod NHBC" or "/insmod NHBC", respectively, in chat if you are a server admin. This way, you can enjoy the other fixes without altering the spawn rules.


SAY NO TO SUICIDE

Space Engineers is a game about space travel, not a UFO suicide cult. As such, Levitator Mod introduces the concept of a "Home Medical Room" so that players cannot use death as a mode of transportation. You may spawn in the planetary lander as before. However, if you wish to spawn on foot, you can only spawn at your home medical room. To change your home medical room, you must travel to your desired home and issue the "/home" command from chat. This way, you cannot travel from earth to the moon simply by offing yourself. This serves to emphasize the importance of these existing ingame features which are not as significant or interesting without the challenge posed by the need to engage in real travel:

- Remote blocks and autopilot
- Jump drives
- Satellite and antenna networks to relay control to remote drones

Now, there is an actual motivation to build stuff and make use of the great features that are in the game, but which were previously defeated by a permissive spawn policy.

FUTURE GOALS

Upcoming areas of research in the area of modding !!SCIENCE!! will consist of efforts to develop radar mechanics to compensate for the vast size of the SE environment. This will serve to emphasize PvP and will add an element of excitement and danger.

You may modify Levitator Mod freely so long as you attribute Levitator as the author in the code and wherever you advertise your product.

Is this mod compatible with any Stargate mods out there, for example the most recent version of the mod pack by Phoenix? Or any other form of purposeful teleportation mod? Just so long as they don't use the medbay and death as a cheap form of travel.

Thanks, i'll probably look into it, but i'm a rookie and script kiddie at best and more or less half heartedly working on different mods, but i'll look into it, learn from it and see what i can do.
I totally get that Keen problem btw...

jackik1410 [V-WG]: I have not updated this mod since 2016. I lost interest because Keen shows no progress in fixing a number of critical game bugs. You are welcome to fork the project and continue it.

Zenduin: I am working on a modular version of the mod now so that you can turn it on and off for admin purposes, as you are describing. I am not misleading you because it is clearly explained both here, and by the mod itself that if you spawn on foot, you will spawn at your home. I am not able to remove the unavailable spawns from the spawn list because Keen's API does not expose that functionality. Regardless of which spawn you choose, the correct spawn policy is enforced.

Would you be so kind as to make a separate mod that only fixes container inventory with projectors? I like the idea of home medical bay, however that is how we find lost ships. I also think it is rather misleading to have 20 medical rooms on your respawn list but only one that works.
