For those of you who don't know, on some texture files there is an "exp" texture to coincide with it. I actually have no idea what it does and I was intrigued when I first saw it. I decided to make it replace the main texture you see in-game, and... well it looks kind of shiny to say the least.

It just looks like a chrome Spas shotgun. It doesn't look bad like the other "exp" textures but neither good. It's as if it has been waxed every five minutes for years until the apocalypse started.

This was my own idea. I haven't seen anyone else do this thing probably because it's not worth it so all the credit goes to Valve for the texture and me for this mod.

And yeah you're right Landylol, especially that weird glowing glitch when walking up to a wall. Nick would love that :P

@Hedy I assumed it was used in the main game since loads of other textures have an exp counterpart, I just don't know what its purpose is. I know some textures are so correct lighting on models and such but I don't know if exp is another version of that or not. :happy_creep:

it is used in the game, actually. Just not as the main texture.

That's the "exponent" which is meant to act as a mask for the specular highlights (phong)
