Description
This mod adds the direct democracy of Marnolm to the game. I came up with this country once, so I decided to make my first Civ V mod based off of it.

Thanks to LeeS on the Civfanatics forums for helping with the trait and other things!

Leader: Fanden Delzos
Trait: Voice of the People
Marnolm gains extra happiness from the Freedom Ideology, but gains extra unhappiness from other ideologies.
Unique Building: Yvaltrasem (Replaces Palace)
In addition to the normal benefits of a palace, the Yvaltrasem provides extra defense to the city, a slight offensive boost to units produced from the city, and generates additional culture and science.
Unique Unit: Revolutionary (Replaces Infantry)
Stronger than normal infantry, but costs more.

This is my first mod, so if there are some errors, I'm sorry.

In order for the trait to work, you can't have any free policies available at the moment.

I am horrible at determining whether something is balanced (except when it is obviously overpowered or underpowered), so constructive criticism would be appreciated.

Changing the ua to a different ideology would ruin the point of the civilization; when I originally came up with this country (which was not for this mod), I based it around freedom and a direct democracy.

or make the ua go for order; which then you'd want quick things that can be bought in bulk. Or autocracy where you just snort crack and have extreme units.

Okay, so I'll probably have less offensive boosts and then add culture and science boosts.

Hmm, thats a good point... I'll see if I can change something so it fits more with Freedom (not quite sure what I would do quite yet, though).

With the unique palace providing combat bonuses to units, that just incentives domination victories... which means that by the time ideologies come about, you'd want to take Order (to maximize your most likely sprawling empire) or Autocracy (to help with quickly capturing the remaining capitals with something like a Clausewitz's Legacy push). Which, as you can see, directly contradicts the unique ability. I'm drawing blanks on ideas, but maybe change the UA or the UB to synergize better with the other?

confusing....but... the infantry/palace uniques are a little overdone, and don't really have anything to go with them. Maybe the infantry atleast has something relating to the uu? as well as the palace? i don't i'm just a weeb sitting on my chair waiting for russia to eat turkey for thanksgiving

With this civ, yes, but technically you can go with a different ideology so long as you have one free policy open
