Description
TOD_Norton_Building_8x10 by templeofdoom

8x10 Unique Building. As close as I could get this to a 1:1 and it's - for all intents and purposes - a 1:1 building. 4 material variations will vary the darkness of this building. The building is fairly dark IRL unless light is hitting it directly and the teal and navy stained tinted glass make it a imposing building. AfterDark ready. Properties in the picture roll. Asset can be found in LVL3 Unique Buildings. See the side bar for added props that make this asset better.

Trying not to ruin specular effects and such, I decided to go with darker color variations to help with the overall look, keeping the reflections in the building but also trying to keep the colors somewhat true to the basic colors of the original. Not exact, but for the game should work out great. The darker color variations added to the asset are subtle and you shouldn't notice any difference from my screenshots.

Alpha maps used for cutouts in order to create a specular with no artifacts. Thanks to CoolZed68 for this techniques here; I'm for from good at this yet and will practice and get better at this for future assets - so stay tuned! :)

Great building! Please make more Seattle buildings!

@templeofdoom the reason the stairs prop isn't found is because the author renamed the stairs prop. Prop-Stairs (by Breeze)_Data no longer exists in the stairs asset, so it won't be loaded by your building. Best to update this building if you can.

@Huskerfan6767 - this might be due to the asset prop I originally used was either removed or I didn't upload it right. Unfortunately as I mentioned below I won't have any immediate time to revisit this asset as I have the game files lost somewhere on a scrapped HDD. It was created over a year ago.

As far as the load screen mod, the stairs not being available won't discard this asset, you can still use it and plop it, it's just that original staircase as depicted in my steam entry screenshots may not be there. In that case, you can subscribe to another type of stair case with the aforementioned mods and add a few staircases to your heart's desire. Thanks and as I said - feel free to unsub if you'd rather not use the asset without the stair case.

Prop stairs downloaded and in workshop. but when the building loads. Loading screen says stairs not found

@huskerfan6767 - can you describe what is wrong? There could be a chance the prop that was originally used is now deprecated (which I believe is the problem). Unfortunately I do not have these game files very handy and would have to do some searching on a disassembled PC and HDD to scour for them. Could you live without the steps? If you have to un-sub to the asset, I understand. :)

Alternatively - you can use Prop Anarchy and MoreBeautification and subscribe to various staircase assets already available in the workshop and place one manually as you see fit. Here's a shortcut link to the stair case search I did for easy reference:

Released in november! How could I missed this one. Simpel realistic look with no futuristic stuff. Just high class. Love it. Well done

Cool. I actually don't pay THAT close attention to the entrances. I focus more on the actual building and how it looks in the skyline. I'm just very picky about the props, I have so many that I only use the ones absolutely necessary for an asset. (since I have prop anarchy mod)
templeofdoom  [author] 24 Feb, 2016 @ 3:18pm
NO problem Ziggy! What will happen is if you take a good close look at the asset in game you won't notice those appear like I have them in the screenshot. They are actualy minor details so if you feel the asset looks dumb without them you can easily subscribe to those props. I have been extremely busy with personal life but I hope to have a week or so in March to start updating most of my assets and refining some of the mistakes I made when I uploaded them. Thanks for subscribing!

@Templeofdoom I just checked to see if I was subscribed to this asset and I am. However, I didn't subscribe to the stairs or the park and haven't gotten any in-game errors, So I'm probably good to go? Thanks for the reply!
