RePerk - Heavy Armor

Description
THE GOAL
The goal of RePerk - Heavy Armor is to provide the perk tree with its own identity in mitigating damage through the use of heavy armor. A player who invests in the Heavy Armor tree should feel like they are an unmovable wall of steel who thrives in the thick of combat; it is this image that helps drive the design and create the theme for this mod.

Please note that this mod is not meant to replace large game overhauls like Requiem, PerMa, etc. While they offer a substantially different (and great) gameplay experience, this mod is meant for those who do not want to make such sweeping changes to all aspects of the game and prefer a more surgical approach to gameplay changes.

NEWS AND ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION
Release 1.0 is officially out! Please read the ReadMe file for full details on what this mod does!

Please check the ReadMe[docs.google.com] for all of the details on what this mod offers! This description is a brief overview of the mod - the ReadMe goes into full detail about all of the changes.

THE PERK TREE
The Heavy Armor tree's been completely overhauled from its vanilla implementation; the player will access all of the changes and benefits this mod offers from here. The subsections below split the perks out by theme and will explain what each perk does. In some cases, there will be additional details that go beyond what’s presented in game for those who are interested in knowing exactly what the perk does and how it works.

The Core Perks
This portion of the perk tree focuses on improving damage mitigation and sustainability in combat.

Bulwark (3 Ranks at 0/30/60 skill)
Increases armor rating from heavy armor by 40/80/120%; gain 50/100/150% health regeneration.

Hold The Line (1 Rank at 30 skill)
Gain a power that reduces all damage and increases health regeneration for 10 seconds. Effects and duration improve as your skill in Heavy Armor increases.

Retaliation (1 Rank at 80 skill)
Gain a lesser power that reflects 400% of melee damage back at attackers but slows you down by 50%. Lasts for 20 seconds.

The Utility Branch
This portion of the perk tree focuses on providing benefits that are useful but not solely centered around combat effectiveness.

Conditioned (1 Rank at 25 skill)
Reduces the weight of worn armor by 35%; gain 15 stamina for each piece of worn heavy armor.

Ox's Strength (1 Rank at 50 skill)
Improves carry weight by 50; improves as your skill in Heavy Armor increases.

Unstoppable (1 Rank at 75 skill)
Each piece of worn heavy armor reduces incoming stagger by 25%.

The Combat Branch
This portion of the perk tree focuses on improving damage mitigation and sustainability in combat.

Sturdy (1 Rank at 25 skill)
Gain 10 health for each activated perk in the Heavy Armor tree.

Second Wind (1 Rank at 50 skill)
Getting hit below 25% maximum health will increase health regeneration by a factor of 5 for 5 seconds. Has a 30 second cooldown upon activation.

Steel Skin (1 Rank at 75 skill)
Reduce physical damage by 50% when you are over 85% health.

The Combat Style Branch
This portion of the tree provides specific bonuses based on what kind of armor your character wears. Current options provide benefits to those who choose to use a full set of heavy armor for a more frontline style or if they pair mage robes with heavy armor for a spellsword style.

Unbreakable (1 Rank at 40 skill)
Armor rating is increased by 25% and Bulwark’s health regeneration bonus is increased by 50% when wearing a full suit of heavy armor.

Sorcerer (1 Rank at 40 skill)
Gain magic resistance and magicka when you wear heavy armor with robes; 50% more effective when only 2 pieces of heavy armor are worn. Effect increases as Heavy Armor skill increases.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
Vanilla Perk Reimbursement
If you're using this mod after playing a character and investing points into the Heavy Armor tree, don't worry! The first time you load a game with this mod enabled, it will refund you all of the perk points you used on the vanilla tree for you to reallocate as you wish.

CREDITS AND COPYRIGHT
All work on this mod, including all linked supporting documentation, is my own and cannot be used, changed, reuploaded, or distributed without my express permission.

DEPENDENCIES AND COMPATIBILITY
DLC Requirements
This mod requires no DLCs; all you need is the base game and you’re good to go.

Perk Tree Conflicts
While this mod is meant to work with the RePerk suite of mods it's compatible with any mod that doesn't look to modify the Heavy Armor perk tree. If you are using a mod that changes several perk trees at once, loading this mod after it should be fine - you'll gain access to the mod's other tree changes and my Heavy Armor tree changes.

Do you have a Mod for Onehanded or are you working on it?

This is the first mod I've seen that tries to balance the HA Tree, but I feel like it tries a little too much. I'm in the process of a LA and HA skill-tree mod myself. LA tree is done but HA needs some work on its planned perks. My HA tree will be focused on damage mitigation and survivability as this mod does, but the LA tree will focus on damage and mobility.

Sorry if I made this sound about me. The mod looks great, not right for me but it looks superb for others.

@Tshaydin - glad you're enjoying the mods! Light armor isn't one of the tree's I'm actively working on but it is something that's on my radar. Keep an eye out on my page and I might end up putting it out within the next month or two if I have the time between work and the holidays.

hey man love the mod, a far more interesting way to rp as a heavy armor warrior character.
Been playing with your archery RePerk recently which is also a really great enhancement to the tree, but I cant bring myself to RP with archery and heavy armor : p. If pos could you recreate this mod for the light armor tree, would be hughly appreciated if you have the time.

Thanks

Ooooh, hey...this could actually very well be what I've been looking for to improve the Heavy Armor experience. I've always hated how every perk overhaul has still left light armor better than heavy armor due to the armor rating cap, and all of the health regeneration and additional damage mitigation here seems to have done the trick to fix that. I'll just go ahead and bookmark this for when I get a system that can run Skyrim better...
