Wehrmacht Panzergrau

Description
Simple reskin to represent the early war Wehrmacht Panzergrau with basic decals.

READ FIRST, THEN THINK ABOUT SUBSCRIBING:

This was developed to fit the vehicles of my tuningpack: UNTERNEHMEN BARBAROSSA

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: DECAL REMOVER by Luz. The ugly decals by Relic WILL obstruct these textures and render the skin pack useless. (Outdated information, use the option in the video settings to get rid of decals instead!)

This is now a required content for the Unternehmen Barbarossa Modification.

INTENTION:

Relic gave us their Panzergrey, which I utilized in my modification up until now. Unfortunatly, it has a very blue hue to it and doesn't feature some of the unique decals that were to be seen on German vehicles throughout the war. So I decided to fix that.

Furthermore, "Unternehmen Barbarossa" features a variety of vehicles for the Ostheer, some of which aren't part of the faction in the original game and therefore aren't affected by regular skin packs. This is not the case with this project anymore.

CONTENT:

Skin pack for light and medium armor.

Winterized Versions included.

Authentic, yet not original decals. Vehicles are decorated with a variety of decals, such as licence plates, unit markings and bar crosses. These are inspired by historical facts, but do not represent them, as it would tie the skin pack to a specific division and location.
In order to get the cool looks without harming the universal usability, I took artistic freedom and replaced unit numbers with the SdKfz numbers of the vehicles in question.

Only vehicles of the "Unternehmen Barbarossa" tuning pack are supported. This skin pack does not affect late war vehicles such as the Sturmpanzer. Panther and Maultier are now included to support the Unternehmen Barbarossa 1943 mode.

Heavy vehicle Skins are not included. Heavy vehicles like the Elefant or the Tiger arrived on the Eastern front rather late and wouldn't roll onto the battlefield without some camouflage paint. I am not a texture artist, I am not able to create a good camouflage pattern skin - There are countless very high quality skin packs on the workshop to fill this gap. Exceptions are the Tiger Ace, aswell as the KV-1 and KV-2 Beutepanzers. These however will only be applied in the Unternehmen Barbarossa tuning pack and can not be equipped universally as a skin.

Featured Vehicles:

  • VW Typ 82 Kubelwagen
  • Opel Blitz
  • SdKfz 250
  • SdKfz 251
  • SdKfz 251 Stuka zu Fuss
  • SdKfz 221 & 222
  • SdKfz 121 Panzer II
  • SdKfz 161 Panzer IV F1/F2
  • SdKfz 142 StuG III E/C
  • SdKfz 4/1 Panzerwerfer 42
  • PzKpfW T-34e 747(r) (only in UB)
  • PzKpfW KV-1 753(r) (only in UB)
  • PzKpfW KV-2 754(r) (only in UB)
  • SdKfz 171 PzKpfW V Panther (only in UB 1943 Mode)
  • SdKfz 181 Tiger Ace (only in UB)

NOTIFICATIONS:

The Reichsadler [imperial eagle] and the Balkenkreuz [bar cross] are symbols legal by law and not meant or to be seen as right wing or national sozialist propaganda. They are used as historical reference. No political views are displayed by this icon.

I am not a professional or even experienced texture artist. This is a very simple, basic reskin.

There are inevitable parallels to other mods out there on the Workshop. This is not intended but rather a result of historical and engine based limitations. I want to emphasize that every part of "Unternehmen Barbarossa" was created from scratch.

I am thankful for any constructive feedback.

Supported Language is English and German [with English texts].

THANK YOU:

Eliw00d, for his wonderful tutorials again.

Sorry, if I'm not distracting, could you help a little, I can't figure out how to make a custom skin for Koch 2, I seem to do it according to the manual, but it doesn't change for me. And can you, as a person who has done this in practice, tell us more?

Great looking skins!

Wish they were for all Wehrmacht vehicles.

Very good looking skins. I suggest you make a full version of it for the in-game store. People are very disappointed with Relic's panzer grey, which isn't even grey...

I had to take them down a while ago. Relic broke the mods with an engine patch (that they later reverted) back in February, which I noticed about a month later. Due to this development and a lack of time to bring the mods up to date every month after the patches, I was forced to halt support for HoD and UB, as well as cancel development for the 99% finished Western Front Mod I was working on.
However, I have just finished the base level work for a less complex successor to Unternehmen Barbarossa. I will probably publish it along with another project, but not before the next patch goes live.

Hey Dar, i just noticed that your Heart of Darkness and Unternnam barbarossa mods are not in the workshop, why is that?

super perhaps it adds

@cliché: No, that won't happen here, since this project has been created exclusively to support my tuning pack. BUT. Recently other Panzergrau mods have been released on the workshop that deliver pretty much the same thing that I did here, but they cover all the tanks, so you might want to check on that.
