GCA Auto-Miner 3.0 (Obsolete/Superseded by the ISM Minerator)

Description
The GCA Auto-Miner 3.0 is the latest installment in the GCA mining drone series. This drone will run continuously completing mining missions at user specified waypoints. It generates and stores its own power with the user of 4 solar panels and 2 batteries. The drone will self-destruct a warhead (the safety on the warhead must be unchecked for it to function, by default the safety is on) attached to the remote control should an enemy player come within 10 meters of the ship. This is to conceal the waypoints stored within the remote control. A single drone can be programmed to visit a different asteroid each time it leaves the station although multiple drones can be used as well. The user will need to set 4 waypoints, 3 Actions for those waypoints, and the setup is complete.

*****
This drone is intended for survival use. Testing this drone in a creative environment can lead to perceived flaws or oversights which are not present in survival scenarios. This is mostly due to the infinite inventory space of all blocks in creative mode. If your test drone fills up with 700kg of stone in creative mode and comes to a standstill remember that the drone will never be able to achieve a mass of more than 300kg.

*All setup is covered in detail in the video*

Remote Control Waypoint Setup:

Station Arrive (Timer Block Arrive: Trigger Now)
Pre-Dock
Dock (Timer Block Dock: Trigger Now)
Station Arrive
Begin Mining (Timer Block First Entry: Trigger Now)

Detailed Waypoint Setup:

Dock: Can be set by controlling the drone via remote control and docking it with your station. After docking the drone access your GPS and create a new waypoint from the ships current position.

Pre-Dock: Pre-Dock should be in perfect alignment with the Dock waypoint and the station connector block 20 Meters above Dock Waypoint. This is to ensure proper docking alignment.

Station Arrive: Station Arrive should be within 10 degrees of alignment of the dock/predock alignment and 50 meters above Pre-Dock.

Begin Mining: This waypoint needs to be on the face of the asteroid that is most visible from your station 20 meters off the surface of the asteroid.

Remote Control Notes:
Flight Mode: Circle (for continuous activity)
Collision Detection: Off (Always)
Precision Mode: On (Always)
Forward Direction: Backward (Always)

Features:
220,000kg Capacity (1x multiplier)
Self-Destruct Feature (Warhead detonates on the remote control to conceal waypoints)
4 Solar Panels / 2 Batteries
10 Stone Ejectors
Self-Projecting for easy repairs
Failsafe Beacon Recovery

@Dope thanks man, it's been awhile since I updated this ship but it should still work. It all depends on Keens autopilot functionality which breaks time to time.

@Glew interesting design! I'm looking forward to understanding how you've built it to work!
There are a lot of servers out there (mostly Keen's official servers) that disallow scripts and thus we're left with more complicated designs I'd say.

@Chaos thanks man! I do love that little drone, maybe I'll create a new version.

thx for information I will check who I can find a script for it. But i will use youre miner its perfect for my mining base,:steammocking:

@Chaos567 This miner is very old and probably doesn't work at all the way it's supposed to. There are much simpler solutions now! You can use an auto-mining script from the workshop and turn any ship into a mining drone. 100% vanilla.

Good video good miner only problem is it dont work like the video. When I activat collision aoidance on the miner fly all points but ignore the docking bay and dont miner. When i take the collision off it do nothing.

Im new in Space engineer so no idea how to fix this.

@Glew I will be looking for to it. :newyearscharm:In the meantime I should improvise.
Best of lucky,

@Nepu I haven't looked at this thing in so long, the game changes so often that it's very difficult to keep this thing updates. I'm waiting for the game to come closer to release before I try to make something like this again, but when I do it will be done with programmable blocks and be much more effective.

Their 2 sensors that aren't connected inside the drone not sure if it's suppose to do that

It's hard to say with Space Engineers physics being broken this week I am unable to work on it.
